This happened with Mario Lemieux in hockey and years later he came back and was still was a top player, even joining Team Canada for the Olympics in his late 30s. And nobody cared that he was in the Hall of Fame still playing. Because his greatness as an all time great was obvious.

@@prod.snqwfall1347 Yep, Fields is younger and faster, neither plays within the structure of an NFL offense, go with their reads past one or sometimes two, use the middle of the field, both hang on to the ball forever after bailing on the called play, take a ton of sacks, lack an understanding of what defenses are throwing at them, don't see open receivers, etc., etc. so yeah, not much difference except it can't be coached out of Wilson at this point. The last few years they have similar stats, but it gets worse when you see them play and take a look at the all 22 video. All that said, Steelers are now better at quarterback than they were, did not spend much money, and are not committed to either one long term.

@lillangen
@lillangen 2 ай бұрын
In the last two years, they have almost identical individual stats. Last year, Russ arguably had a better team around him. If you listen to what ppl are saying about Justins situation in Chicago, all you hear is how he had no help and that mgmt did a garbage job with surrounding him with talent. Russ also, without any doubt, had a better HC (Payton vs Eberflus is not close). So if they had almost identical stats, an almost identical record (7-10 vs 8-9) while Fields had a worse supporting cast and worse coaching, why is Russ the better QB? Also, Russ is in the back nine while Fields is ascending (although, not developing as much as his diehard fans would have you think). So again, how is Russ the better option? Also, which group of players were more vocal last year about their support of their QB, the Bears or the Broncos? I rest my case and I'm not really a fan of either guy

They also kinda waived it for Walter Jones LT for the Seattle Seahawks because of the fact his last roster year he wasn't able to play due to injury so they effectively counted that as one of his years. For shoo ins like Walt it wouldve been insulting to wait longer. But that was a situation where Walter was not coming back. I also think there's a underlying worry that a player comes back after being a Hall of Famer selection, plays, and does something that disrespects the shield (such as gambling on or throwing games). Like its one thing if they come back after 5 years and play poorly and it hurts the memory of their hall of fame career. It's another if they make the entire Hall process look bad. I think that plays a bigger factor. That being all said, it could be as simple as we need time to evaluate some cases more properly then others and in comparison to others, like when you have multiple WR logjamming the selection process and have to make a decision where a guy waits even though they will all inevitably be in the Hall.

Let's see... Drafted to an OC that couldn't lead a highschool offence. Thrown into the fire as a rookie when Trubisky couldn't do it and fans still supported it. Looking good in that first year despite being a rookie and having poop around him. For example, the RB (big guy) sucking eggs and can't find a hole if Moses parted it for him. That same RB would prefer to dance in circles than run down hill. Head coach is loyal TO A FAULT, but only to his staff (and maybe that RB). WR (recently traded) that ran backwards for more yards than going forward. OL (left side) that couldn't block a 5th grader. A centre that couldn't snap...ever. Year two and OC finally gets fired (hallelujah) and when Kenny (and team) started showing IMMEDIATE progress, gets benched for 3rd string after recovering from injury (despite surgery). Third year and they bring a washed QB. 😮Hmmmmm.... I was born a Steelers fan and will die a Steelers fan, but Kenny was done dirty. Who could blame him for wanting out. I hope this isn't going to bite the Steelers in the you know what.

LT was also an edge, as compared to AD who played most of his career at the DT and interior. If you want to compare stats, great, but teams game plan for AD was double or triple team him, or lose the game. AD also paved the way for guards to get paid more because he was wrecking the game. Nope. McCarthy (?) or another good rookie will help the cap and they need the $$$ and I can't trust Darnold from what I've seen to be close to KIrk.

Nobody who is not a moron would say Justin Fields is a better QB. Where did you get that fake news data Rich? And where does this Russ hate over the last weeks come from? have you spend time with McAfee oder do you try to get close to Payton like Cowherd?

There are legit 2 offenses in the NFC North that will be better than the Bears this year. Even if Caleb is everything he is supposed to be.

The "general sense" hasn't watched Fields play in the NFL then. Oh Russ is bad too but Fields is way, way worse. All his defenders have is a handful of highlights against bad teams and a mountain of excuses for the guy.

Yo, hey Rich, do some more studying. The Chiefs weren't a top-5 offense this past year. Top-10 barely. Also, as wrong as you "experts" have been, maybe pump the brakes on prognosticating player moves including the draft.

He didn't say they were. He just included the Super Bowl champs as a good team capable of being better than the Bears and Steelers.

You know how the big streaming services are flopping with content, the whole world is wondering where all the talented writing has gone. Now we know, they are writing the scripts for the NFL. I'm about to tap out of the whole thing.
