Excellent! So glad to hear such a top actor cutting out the bullshit and laying it out straight as it is!

I totally agree with Alan’s philosophies on acting. I think it’s important to learn different techniques but most acting is just an expression of yourself as a human being.

Just started listening and thinking what he ends up saying, that this overthinking of acting seems to be more prevalent in America. Bill Nighy talks similarly about it and I completely relate.

Overthinking is bad in life generally. The core thing is worrying. Just stop worrying about whatever and you’ll be good or use this anxiety as an impetus I.e go again the stream

That's a very Laurence Olivier way of seeing things. Works for him. Doesn't work for others. Daniel Day Lewis, Dustin Hoffman, Marlon Brando... so many others, do not share this view. And that's ok. There are many ways to skin a cat.

@dduem137 жыл бұрын
Ana Belen Coronel Awful school with no in-depth training. It's all over the place with no sole method to keep the actors grounded and capable of using a technique to practice their acting. Save your money.

Alan, my fellow Scot, a dinosaur doesn't breathe fire, the dragon does though so when you say when a child plays at being a dinosaur, oh! yes it has a fiery breath, it's not quite right . Just nit-picking here. Thought he was great in the Good Wife.
