My E wouldn't wake up to charge from my SMA wall charger. A workround, after setting the waiting time, is to lock and unlock the car with the key fob, remove and replace the charge cable and it appears to reset the car and the car charges according to the time waiting schedule.

Mine STARTED charging, but then bombed out for some reason, hasnt done it since, its done it twice in total.

Thanks. I was misunderstanding the schedule for delayed charging.

I would recommend using the charging limit and limit charging to 100% unless you're going to use it. The battery is happier below 80%.
@IanSampsonRLO3 жыл бұрын
Not seen any loss with 100% charging across any of our EV’s since 2014, and with the Honda of course its never really 100% - they only give 28.5kwh when its a 35.5kwh batt

I have my Env200 set to only charge to 80% but I only do about 30miles a day.
@KJSvitko3 жыл бұрын
Keeping the battery between 20 - 80% is best for battery longevity. If you don't need all the range of 100% on a daily basis why charge to it. Charge higher when you need it. People need to get away from the petrol "fill up" mindset when they buy an electric vehicle. This will add to battery life and make the car more desirable when it is time to sell and pass it on for a higher sales price. If your car has a low range even 90 or 95% would be better than 100%
@kierankennedy42533 жыл бұрын
The importance of not charging to 100% is dependent on battery temperature. In a cold climate its not as beneficial to limit charging to 80% compared to a hot climate
@KJSvitko3 жыл бұрын
@@kierankennedy4253 A battery degrades faster sitting at 100% than it does at 50%. It is not about charging but how long the battery sits at the 100% level. If you charge and go then it is OK. If you charge and let it sit for hours, days or weeks then a lower level is better.

Stupid lock down, cant really stack the miles on at the mo, although car has now done over 5000 miles just! Videos will start to flow again as and when I can start visiting the Honda dealers!

Thank you for these videos as I am really warming up to the Honda E. I currently own a Tesla and it has a very well known annoying problem of vampire battery drain i.e the battery drains even when the car is off and overnight it uses up from 1-3% depending on the weather. Does the Honda E have this issue as well? thanks!

No drain so far!

Hi Ian. Can you cover pre heating from the app? Particularly interested in whether it works both when plugged in and not plugged in. Hope it does. Thanks.

Yup. Will be in another segment 😀

Yes it does pre-condition via the App whether plugged in or not.

See 1000 mile review vid - but basically brilliant. Incredibly bright, much much brighter than Zoe.

Does pre-heating the car when plugged in take power via the wall socket or does it drain the battery? Ta!
@IanSampsonRLO3 жыл бұрын
I think when plugged in it draws from the mains - BUT on home charger it does change the estimated time left to charge to 100% - on a rapid charger is does not mess with the times. So probably depends on the power being output by the charger.
