While I think most things about OW2 sucks, I think 5v5 is an improvement. Unfortunately the changes to 5v5 made any non-role queue mode cancer.

3:45 Watching the current Overwatch league championships will unlock lots of free skins and give you lots of league tokens, if you do the full watch time on all streams, you would actually earn enough tokens to buy a league skin of your choice. It's ridiculous that the best way to progress in this game is to not play it but to watch other people play it... I must have been mistaken in thinking this was a video game or something but I guess that's why it's called "OverWatch"... Imagine if they made a game based on OverWatch that you could actually play to earn rewards.

okay in all fairness to Blizzard (I hate these systems too), they probably see Valorant's monetization and just copy pasted that formula. In my opinion, they should give you some legacy credits (NOT Premium currency) every time you play the game like OW1, so players can buy the old skins again. That way, Blizzard still makes money off of the new skins and battle pass, and f2ps can have some level of customization.

That's my point exactly. Your right, skins are completely cosmetic but, they add a sense of progression or reward for playing the game. With the current halloween event for example, there's no reason to keep playing the event after you've gotten a taste of the special modes. Compare that to OW1 where each week of the event you got a special limited skin in addition to 3-5 event lootboxes. I'm not even going to mention the fact that you were able to just unlock the new skins if you grinded enough for free. There was a reason to keep playing.
