The message of this song that he "loves us to death no matter what you've done" is important. I'm tired of being told I'm loved by Jesus/God, but that I need to change because "true" followers act a certain way. You know. "I live you, but..." If a person truly loves me, they will love me even if I've done something they don't like/appreciate in the past. And if I've done something wrong to them, they'll be able to explain why my actions hurt. Telling someone that you are loved and yet demanding things "because that's just right" isn't unconditional love at all. So why would it be any different with a God?

Could tell it was a praise song by the name. The Sons of Thunder was the nickname that Jesus gave James and John the sons of zebedee, because of their intense zeal, and they together with Peter made up the inner circle of 3 who were with Jesus on the mountain and in the garden.
