Those shots - the moon, the owl - and the sounds, were unbelievable! Mother Nature awarded you for your patience with a well deserved glimpse of awesomeness. So incredible!

So glad you enjoyed it Waw Hiker. Hopefully it felt like you were along for the walk! Yeah, it was a really nice reward and I'm still dumbfounded that it actually all came together. Thanks, my friend!

Thanks a whole bunch for sharing in the excitement with me DC. It really is a great place, especially if you're not here in July, Aug, Sept. I usually try to stay away from the 'hate' word but those are a few months that I never look forward too.

This brings back memories of how I discovered your channel. Crocket told me to about your "Born Free" series when you documented some baby Redtail & I've been hooked ever since. Great shot and it worked out just in time. I could tell you were almost in disbelief as it was unfolding. Good stuff brother!
@Patriot369 жыл бұрын
I forgot about that story actually. It's crazy to think about now because we've become such good pals. I think my excitement leaked out when I first had the owl and the moon framed and the owl turned and looked my way. I was lost for anything to say so some kind of weird expression came out...lol.

Owls are pretty impressive. I was out early checking my trapline recently and had a horned owl like that swoop down about 30 - 40 feet in front me, wish I knew he was there, I would've had my camera running. Cool footage, man thanks for sharing!!

Oh man, sounds pretty awesome! Hey, at least you got to see it in person and now you'll always remember that short film in your mind! Thanks for sharing than man.

Brother, can you believe it!? There's no way that should have paid off but it did. I'm not even sure where the wherewithal came from to think... "Moon" + "Owl" "hey, I know...." Thanks for everything buddy.

DAMN NICE CLAYMORE DUDE!! That would be some awesome four wheeler riding area. Great videography. Has anyone ever told you you look like James Hettfield? 'Cause you do.
@Patriot369 жыл бұрын
Thanks Charger. It's a Spanish Marto that I've had for 15+ years now. I'm not a collector but it's fun to keep. People always want to pick it up which I welcome them to do! Yeah, a couple people have told me that now but only on youtube, never in person.

Didn't know you had those. I bet those are a riot to shot. Loved when the ravens flew over head. Could actually hear the wings. Oh you're kidding...those shots with the owl and the moon were phenomenal!
@Patriot369 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've got quite a collection of old military arms. I feel like there's so many videos to make and not enough time to make them. You've probably said that yourself many times, right! When I was younger I didn't appreciate Ravens that much but in the last 10 years or so, I've become astonished by their intelligence, and social and flying skills. LOL... that's how I felt about the owl footage when I was taking it! I keep looking at the camera, thinking... "you better be recording this, camera!

Great video. Nothing quite like a majestic great horned owl against the moon. Now if you catch him silently gliding in on prey.
@Patriot369 жыл бұрын
Thanks Generic! Yeah, I'm with you man. It was quite an experience and I'm so thankful that I got to share it with you guys. I have a video of an GHO descending to grab an animal of some type but it was obscured by the ground brush and I never saw what it caught. I think it was either the Wilderness Owl Adventure Part 1 or the video that preceded it, before I made a series out of it. I just can't remember.

Thanks Rich! Oh, yeah... that's a Spanish Made Marto. I'm not a collector or anything but I purchased that sword online many years ago! Like... 16-18, I think. I might be able to show a 20-30 sec piece on it in a future vid for you. Sort of like a request, I guess. Thanks for watching buddy.

3:08 - I love owls and what a magnificent looking owl right there. It looks like an eagle owl / horned owl? - maybe someone knows for sure. We get barn owls flying over the fields near to where I live.
@Patriot369 жыл бұрын
Yep, exactly... Horned Owl. The horns or feather tuffs are really visible at the end with the backlighting. Also, if you enjoyed that one, check out the Wilderness Owl Adventure Series I did which is several years old now. The video footage is crisp as anything I've ever filmed.
