Beautiful. Wings are like stained glass, but not stained. Wish the larvae stayed like that and grew bigger. One bug where the larvae is cooler than what they become.

the way the top of their eye is bigger than the bottom is exactly like how a dragonflies eyes are that is so weird its like the missing link between dragonfles to lacewings and same thing with the wing veins and shape its so similar and they are also preditors just like the dragonfly

@@bugsincyberspace ok so I lost a mid sized common hisser I couldn’t figure out if it escaped, hid in the enclosure , or if I had gotten it out and forgot or passed out or something like that He was missing for almost 48 hours The issue is that my unit is treated. And any critters that get to the floor will die He was on the end table next to the bed I had gotten him out. Smoked a bunch of hash Then got up and started cleaning and cooking And fell asleep He didn’t try to go to the floor or even move more than about two foot from where I last saw him I was bummed. Because he is the only roach that doesn’t seem to mind or at least doesn’t resist early morning interaction Now I don’t have to worry about wondering for two days if he is hiding Because he now waits at the top of the tank to come out🙄 His name is drake(like the adventurer from uncharted. (I’m not Canadian and have better taste in music than that) Have an awesome day. Cheers

What is the exact lighting setup you use to bring all these guys to your yard? I need one hopefully the setup you use can be found on Amazon A lot of termites flying about too. And finally it seems like an owlfly captive breeding program is now underway
@bugsincyberspace2 жыл бұрын
I actually have a lot of footage of termites in the yard from a month or so ago but my ant video last was super low in views and ant footage is better than termite footage, one would think. ;) 🤣 I just use UV bulbs here in the yard. Rarely set up the mercury vapor bulb and only down near the barn.
@periplanetamissionary2 жыл бұрын
@@bugsincyberspace so just a uvb reptile bulb and a blacklight? Any particular type/brand?
@bugsincyberspace2 жыл бұрын
@@periplanetamissionary Any full spectrum uv bulbs (they glow blue, not purple) will attract insects. The reptile bulbs aren't the same. Not sure how they are different but they don't work as well. Typically the bulb will have the letter BL associated with the model number. Applications often include grow lights for plants or bug zappers and such.

I’m sorry bro. I know I ask you a lot of questions. But I legit couldn’t find an answer I have what I assume to be a common hisser A male that just molted a few weeks ago It was the first molt with fully developed horns It took so long that I was almost convinced it was a female It’s only been like two weeks Just behind the protonoum(no idea how to spell that) The exoskeleton is beginning to separate To the point where I can tell it is not natural Do you think there is a possibility that it is molting again that soon And do you think I should raise the humidity or keep him moist to ease the process
@bugsincyberspace2 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't be molting again that soon. It sounds more like a crack or a result of damage of some kind that perhaps occurred while the new exoskeleton had not yet fully hardened just after the last molt, or as a result of a minor mismolt.
