We can take both seriously, as both China and Saudi Arabia relationships are problematic. Just a reminder of Saudi Arabia recent history: - 15 of 19 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. - consistent Human Rights violators. - mistreat women as third class citizens. - murdered an American journalist for being a dissident. - bribed American political family with $2B while they were in office. It’s clear-Saudi Arabia is not an ally and is using LIV Golf to whitewash and launder their finances.

To your point, Phil has been the only one being honest…which is what everyone loves about him. As opposed to Jack Nicklaus, who is currently working with the same Saudi group to build a golf course in Saudi Arabia, being paid by Saudi money. And in his presser, instead of being honest about the Saudis, he showers them with praise and then expresses how honored he is to be chosen to do this project…when are people going to make headlines about that? There are only two reasons I even watch golf. I love the game and appreciate the pro's skill level but the main reason I watch is it was one of only two professional sports left (Tennis) where the athletes compete to get paid. The ultimate winner took top prize and I loved that part the most. I am so sick of guaranteed contracts to pro athletes and that is exactly what the LIV tour has done. I personally will never watch anything associated with this league for that reason not to mention the whole Saudi thing.

"Forty years ago, it was considered by some a risky move for the guys who play professional golf to break away from the group created for golf professionals." This was about the PGA Tour splitting from The PGA of America in 1969. "The golf breakup occurred largely because of the influx of money that television had started to pump into the game. The top players (Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer among them) wanted to use the additional TV money to pump up the purses." "The PGA of America wanted to put the money in the general fund. That's when the compromise was reached, with the golf professionals and the professional golfers going their separate ways." Sounds a bit like today... The PGA tour categorized itself as a non profit so it could avoid hundreds of millions in tax revenue. That decision is now haunting them since it also means they can't hand out guaranteed money contracts like other professional sports. The LIV tour is doing exactly that so it's not surprising top level golfers want guaranteed money. If someone loses their PGA tour card they're gone with very little support. I don't see how you can treat people as independent contractors and then complain when they go elsewhere.
