The reason why Stryper is so popular now and always has been is because their music is so well written and rocks. Every album they come out with is so good. Excellent musicians and songwriters. Hits on every album.

I’m halfway through this interview and I had to stop it to say that you conduct some of the best interviews I’ve ever seen. You let your guests speak. You listen to what they’re saying, and not spacing out thinking of your next question, disregarding what they’ve just said. Awesome!!!!!

@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen You are very welcome. It’s so refreshing to hear you do interviews like this. Michael is wrong…he is special. It takes a lot to keep that Stryper machine going, and I’m so appreciative that over the last 10 years I’ve gone to my mailbox 5 times and have had a new Stryper record waiting for me. They’ve CREATED new music when they didn’t have to. They could easily rely on their back catalog, and not put out any new music…but they don’t. They’ve created QUALITY music, like you said. New Stryper classics. I, for one, am grateful for that.

Great interview. I’ve been a Stryper fan Since the In God we trust album. I was raised in an extremely conservative Christian background they didn’t even play musical instruments in church lol. So I had to basically hide all of my music. I think it’s incredible how the band has reached people and I pray God‘s blessing to continue on you guys.

I'm right there with you. I went to Freed Hardeman (church of Christ College) back in 85 on baseball scholarship and had a huge box of Christian metal cassettes and a few LPs. They didn't use instruments in worship either and some people went as far as to say I was sinning when listening to Christian music with instruments. I just laughed and had "Jesus Rocker" (a nick name some people gave me in a mocking way) put on the back of my social club shirt. Some times you just gotta rebel.

Thanks Jason for interviewing my favorite band. I have been a fan since 1985. Stryper and Impellitteri are my 2 top bands. I listen to mostly Christian Oriented bands and a few that don't fit or quite fit in the Christian area (Impellitteri, Dream Theater, MASS). The talent in STRYPER are incredible and they have had/still have their obstacles. Michael is the visionary in the band and with his management team they achieve results. He also has one of the best voices in Hard Rock and Metal. The talent and albums released by Stryper and many other Christian Oriented bands can stand up to any other album released in the mainstream.

I remember Swaggart going off about Bloodgood. Then Swaggart was caught with a prostitute. Bloodgood's album Rock in a Hard Place the song Shakin' it the song was about Swaggart. The line, "He got caught with his pants down he should of tighten up his bible belt." Les Carlsen and Michael Bloodgood apologized for that song the reason was it was done out of anger rather than the love of God.

Great interview , I loved Stryper growing up and to this very day still buy and listen to their albums, I would love to just meet them all one day and give them a hug and thankyou for inspiring my walk with God. Also their albums always seem to get better and better as times goes on. I would like to get a hold of one of those Stryper Bibles. As a teen at one of their concerts I had caught one of their Bibles and some kid just ripped it out of my hands and took off with it, I did not fight for it back I had already became a Christian and I felt maybe he really needed that Bible more than I did. Keep on Rocking Stryper lets see if you can outlast the Rolling Stones.
