After 8 months of Ozempic I have lost 54.5kg - 120lbs the side effects are tough and sometimes come in waves but its worth stickign through it. Recently I havent really felt the appetite suppression but I have also adjusted how I eat so I dont think I eat as much as I used to. My blood levels are also no longer diabtetic

Do you ever wonder what’s gonna happen when you stop taking the medication? Will your hunger come back will you go back to old habits? That’s the only problem I have with this is that once it’s off you don’t get hunger suppression. Basically you have to be on this for the rest of your life perhaps

I’ve been on ozempic for 9 months now. I’ve lost 25 pounds to date. My a1c went from 7.5 to 6.0 after 3 months at which point I stopped taking Glipizide. My a1c did bump up to 7.0 but making adjustments to diet to manage that. I’m pleased with how effective it has been. It’s nice not to feel hungry all the time.

I have been using various GLP-1 for 20 years. I also lost 35-40 lbs initially but eventually normal hunger returned slowly over the years, so it pays to be vigilant. I've had to add insulin, EMPAGLIFLOZIN, Metformin. Cardiovascular exercise helps immensely to keep the weight off. However the insulin causes weight GAIN. Flexible strategy is required.

How do you tell what your supposed to take on the pan versus the Needle? Like how do I measure out .25mg when using the pens? Do I go by the numbers on the end and if so how and what is the deal with the number of clicks? So basically I don't know how to measure out the right dosage using depends. I have three different types of insulin that are in the pens and I am just seeing that I may be measuring it wrong

@@sidzy79 side effects - 1. you never can eat later then 6pm and at 6pm your food should not be heavy - otherwise it will stay with you all night in your stomachs fresh and untouched 😁😁😁 better last time to eat at 5pm or even 4:30. Trust me. 2. Junk food - will stoped your stomach for 24 hours and you will suffer and burp with rotten eggs all day long 3. Often ur stomach will burn in night - but again if you will eat much and late. (Later then 6pm) and no matter if you go to sleep at 11pm or 12 - you will pay for you habbits ;-) So the medicine will teach you how to eat, what to eat, when and how much - and it is very good. I am only on my second week of Ozempic. My blood sugars took a drastic dive post 24hrs after my first injection. I am getting consistent readings between 5 and 6.5. Previously my readings were anything from 6.5 to 15 Hba1c 7.5. I am also on insulin which I really didn't think was working and my endo just kept increasing the dose every 3 months. Now I have had to drop my insulin way down!!! I just can't believe how well it has worked for me in such a short period of time. I must admit my diet has improved. No cravings at all and only able to eat really small amounts. The fullness feeling is amazing. And only time I feel sick is when I have that extra too many mouthfuls. So I have recognised when to stop eating. Weight loss is a bonus... but glucose control is my main reason for using Oz. Lost 2.9kg 1st week and 2kg 2nd week. I also have liver cirrhosis so really hoping I can reverse that at least to some extent. 🤞 . Thank you for your time in sharing this video. 😊

As its clear that doses becoming ineffective after certain period of time. What will happen when 1MG does is not enough? I quit Ozempic for some time because it was causing lots of upper stomach pain. In that period of time I clearly saw that it creates dependency because after quitting Ozempic blood sugar levels go really high. Kindly advise.

This is very informative. I think US doctors are not prescribing correctly as there was not any mention of the 4 weeks at .25 and no mention of the 5 weeks for it to work in the system my physician started me on the 1.25 dose and after 4 weeks I had a pancreatitus attack. I stopped it, watched some videos about it and asked if I could get the pen with the .25 and .5 dose. I only did the .25 for 2 weeks then .5 for 2 and now 1.0 but I am considering going down to .5 and see if after 4 or 5 weeks that will be sufficient. It is just very disappointing to know that this is a very successful treatment and would be even more so if prescribed correctly. Maybe it is just my doctor. Thank you for this video and the information.

I have just started Ozempic, it’s been 3 weeks now. The first week I had really bad nausea but hearing you explain everything, I’ve realised that it was just the sense of over eating fullness. I’ve had type 2 diabetes for over 10 years now. I got diagnosed when I was about 19. The issue is that, no amount of doctors, diabetes specialists, endocrinologists have figured out if it’s type 2 diabetes or type 1. I don’t have family history of diabetes but my brother has type 1 diabetes. The only 2 medications that have worked for me so far to keep my sugar levels under control are insulin both short acting and long acting and trulicity, with insulin I gain a lot of weight. I also just wanted to ask is there a chance that I could have type 1 diabetes? If you could please tell me what sort of tests I should get done to rule this out. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

It's been two days since I took my first dose of Trulicity. The only problem I'm experiencing is low energy and tiredness due to reduce food intake. This is impacting my workout routine since I need energy to perform HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) through Cycling or running. With reduced appetite or no carbs in belly, I have no energy left to run for 10 km or endurance training. Any help or feedback would be appreciated.

I didn't lose but about 10 lb in 10 months with trulicity. However after I had been taking it for about a year and a half I became very very weak I had no idea it was the trulicity that was causing it. But the same thing had happened to my brother and he told me to stop taking it. As soon as I stopped taking it it took about 4 weeks and I was back to normal. Then I started taking those Ozempic. I've lost 45 lb in 9 months and sometimes I feel weak but not usually. I am often a little nauseated and if I eat too much I will throw up. Also the taste of food is different and I don't desire food the way I used to.

We live in New Orleans. The doctor who originally diagnosed Ric years ago (40!) is an endocrinologist. He partnered with Ric in keeping him, so far with good A1C #s...and hubby has had no neuropathy or problems. However his numbers are not as good as they were, say..two years ago. There can be many reasons of course. But he was hesitant when Ozempic first was suggested (a year or so ago) because of 'sticking him with a needle.' The Doctors now remind him that the benefits of this particular injection method can far outweigh the 'scaries'...so it's straight ahead for us. (BTW I got elected to do his injection)...

Type 2 here, been on ozempic .25mg for about 3 months. Lost 12 pounds with no exercise. It suppresses my hunger and helps me to not over eat. I havnt noticed any side effects. I take my insulin before every meal. And take a long acting insulin at bedtime. Metformin twice a day. My blood glucose average is a steady 116. After I eat goes up to 150. Havnt went over 200 since starting ozempic. My a1c has always been decent 5.7 to 6.4. Been type 2 that I know of since June 2020

My doctor started me on 0,5 mg and I’m feeling a little queasy but I take over the counter ginger pills and gaviscon and they seem to help. I’m not diabetic, just overweight, bmi 32, ans I would like to gradually increase to a maintenance dose of 2,4 mg weekly like in the weight loss study. After my first month on 0,5 and next month on 1,0 do you think I could safely go up to 2,4 mg weekly? Is there any risk linked to this dosage other than worsening of the GI side effects? Thanks!

Thank you for share your knowledge, doc! I am obese, type 2 diabetic, my blood levels are all under control, but I am in a weightloss journey. I've been facing hard time with some binge eating episodes not scheduled in my meal plan. So, I received the suggestion to try Ozempic, with the main goal to keep focus on my diet and decrease or even avoid the binge eating episodes. My question is: is Ozempic also designed to be a kickstart tool and, if I decide to get rid of it, I can do well OR in your experience, is this the kind of med people need to use it for eternity?
@MyHealthExplained
@MyHealthExplained 3 жыл бұрын
Both are possible...if you use it to lose weight you will need less diabetes medications. Some people are able to then either get off the medication or lower the dose to a maintaince level quite successfully. It really is affected by the approach you take so good luck

no that is not quite true...in the study a small number of people had worse retinopathy but the the number was so small it could be by chance...further investigations are occurring. I think you should read more about Ozempic. I find that the doctors says that on Ozempic is better results then on Trulisity. And dont forget that you will not get result in one month, maybe it will take more. And for sure the medecine is a helper - but you have to work! It will help you to reduce your appetite, but if you still put in ur stomach a lot alof food - you wont get any result. You have to listen your self and take a diet - meet and veggies! No junk food, a lot of walk and watter - and you will see the result

I’ve been taking this for 4 weeks at .25. It’s very important to note that I’m taking it for weight loss only. My endocrinologist prescribed it. The first couple of weeks were hard as I was very nauseated. For me, I’ve noticed that anything even a bit spicy will make me sick to my stomach for half the day. Even spaghetti sauce. Peanut butter is another hard food. I eat a very bland diet right now and if I start to feel nauseated but not hungry, I’ll eat like 10-15 animal crackers. Just plain ones. Seems to settle the stomach some. And a little Sprite can help. But the nausea does get better. At least, by week four it has for me. I had to hang in there for the first 2-3 weeks. Week four has been surprisingly better. This is just my experience.♥️
