Wow, Jim. That was an incredible song. Would have never know about this band if it wasn’t for you, thank you. After listen to your video I showed this song to my dad who is a big Zappa fan. He loved it too! Thanks again.

Hello Jim. Lovely! But I know nothing of these "osrics" you talk of. Hows about an Intro To Osrics in 4 parts... 1. The Osrics - who they be, what they do etc. 2. The early stuff. 3. The later stuff. 4. The stuff you don't want to miss = must listens! :) Good show & minimalist works!

I was a DJ at a “free-form” college radio station in early mid 90s in middle America. They had tons of CDs and cassettes of “unknown” bands and we were free to play anything we wanted. We had Erpsongs, Tantric Obsticles, and Ethereal Cereal on cassette, and then we got Arborescence and Jurassic Shift on CD. I played a lot of their stuff on the air and then saw them in concert at a small venue in town in 96(?) Been a big fan ever since.

This one reminds me a bit of “Saucers” and “Bizarre Bazaar “ from the Strangeitude era. I love their Arabic sounding stuff. I’ll also plug one again from Rush’s last album - Headlong Flight.

This was brilliant live on their last TotS tour before their hiatus, I am so glad that they have become active once more as of 2020.

And i thought the most exotic stuff ill hear is a mongolian folk rock band and tunesian symphonic metal but well.. then i remembered i lsiten to german medieval stuff and .. now this i guess. I love traditional Styles and instruments mixed with modern aspects. Thats awesome..truly awesome!

Ozrics!!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥....never a bad day when you get a chance to listen to them. Been list to Bjorn Riis this morning ( I know I recommended it a white ago....it's so good) Forever Comes to An End....if you haven't, you MUST!!! Also Gleb Kolyadin .... Favorite new album this year until Riverside came out, but it's super close. Check out Insight featuring Gavin Harrison. Aslo check out his main band Iamthemorning( one word) "Lighthouse" features Mariusz Dude as a guest vocalist. Beautiful music.

Hey Jim thanks, Ozric Tentacles is one of the best ever, and Pasi T is right about The Flower Kings, you will not be disappointed. Start with the song Stardust We Are.

Watching you experience something you really like listening to is such a joy! Just what I needed after work today. And - in the process I discovered something new to explore aswell! Never heard of this group so had to do some research and it surprised me to see that they're from England! This kind of sounded like the prog rock version of the goa trance group Astral Projection from Israel to me! And as usual: tossing in the link to Polish band Art of Illusion and their song "Distance". I think you'd like it! kzbin.info/www/bejne/apOokKWvptVmf8k

I never really got into the "Ozrics" although a mate of mine did lend me "Straneitude" some years back which I really enjoyed. For me "Epiphlioy" has a bit too much going on but your video has made me think about giving them another go. Here's my list again with a couple of additions: Parabol/Parabola - Tool The Giving Tree - If These Trees Could Talk Interstellar or The Wave - Amplifier Barock Project - Twenty Years. Rob's Dream - All Them Witches Cheers Jim.

Like you I've been listening to the Ozrics for many years now. When I was 13 years old back in 1976 I began listening to Colosseum II and I never thought any band would come close but the Ozrics are very near. Check out Colosseum II album wardance, it will blow you away. Other bands to check out are Brand X, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Isotope, Hidria Spacefolk, and many others

Hi Jim thank you for sharring this, never heard of them before, but these middle eastern sounds really inspired me for another great suggestion. Orphaned Land - disciples of the sacred oath II. bonus info: Steven Wilson mixed the album, and here i quote Steven" the Israelish version of Opeth" , dont you worry Jim, ill keep reminding you the next 3 to 4 month, its worth it like anekdoten. :)

This is one of my favourite tracks from Ozric Tentacles. If I am informed correctly, Ed Wynne's son Silas plays Saz (a long-neck lute) on this song.

I know them for a very long time and have a lot of albums of them and even the dvd: live at the pongmasters ball. This album I don't know but this sounds familiar. I like this type of music as also the Berlin school type bands like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Amethystium, Syndromeda, Redshift.

Jim, after hearing your reaction to this I think you would be committing a crime against your ears if you did not listen to a band called Indukti. An incredible Polish progressive metal band (mainly instrumental but Mariusz Duda of the Polish band Riverside did sing on their SUSAR album). It doesn't matter which track you listen to because they are all musical journeys of brilliance. But you might appreciate "Freder" kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWfGmIatiblml6M and Ninth wave kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKLTl2BnmdOBrck Even if only for your own enjoyment without a reaction video...... Don't pass this band over!
