I had Ozurdex for cystoid macular oedema caused by ruthenium plaque radiation after Anti-VEGF shots stopped working. It worked well by reducing the swelling but, as anticipated it hiked my IOP and in due course caused glaucoma and hastened my existing cataract. I was returned to Lucentis and have had over 161 successful injections thus far.

Thanks Doctor! I really a lot of your videos. Fearless now. I had Macula Edema treatment. I have I think anterior uveitis.well, I study things by myself online due to the place I am in now that it’s too difficult to ask details of my eye problems since I’m not in an English speaking country. Though I’m blessed I had the best Chief ophthalmologist who had my surgery done last July 2021 on my right eye and second surgery to my left eye this year 2022 February. I had cataract surgery and lens implant. Both of my eyes already. Im a Woking patient so my surgery and later eye injection is done, one eye at a time. So I’m just researching information online about my eye problems. And you’re one of the Doctor on,one that explains details that almost fits my eye problems.

Thanks for explaining how the macular cysts are dealt with. I hope the macular hole will close when the cysts shrink.

I’ve recently been diagnosed with Macular Edema after having a corneal transplant DESAK surgery this past July. My cornea specialist has now referred me to a retinal specialist after an OCT with an upcoming appointment. For now I’m using prednisone, an ocular NSAID & drops for eye pressure. Not sure if this is the regular first try to resolve this condition. I’ve been on this medication now for 2 weeks, I see the retinal specialist in 2 more weeks. So I’m concerned. My transplant resolved my Fuchs, but gave me the edema. I’m hoping they will do this injection for me, sounds good.

I have chronic Uveitis and don't respond to Durezol etc, I had my 6th Ozurdex injection yesterday. The first 2 or 3 kept my eyes quiet for about 5 months but now at almost exactly the 3 month mark I flare again, so my doc is injecting me every 3 months.

radiation retinopathy here from melanoma treatment. ill prob have to get these every 5-6 months forever they say, along with anti vegf meds every 2-4 months. I can always tell when its time and within almost hours vision is better most of the time. its amazing really. I did have a cataract removed as a result of the combo of radiation and the dexa though fairly quickly.

Hello Doctor, I am from India. First I thank you for such a practical and explanatory video. For past 6 months I am getting treatment of CME for both eyes. I got 2 shots of Accentrix injection in both eyes but after a month eyesight return to same as it was first diagnosed. Recently I got 1 shot of Ozurdex injection in both eyes. In my left eye I experience more blurryness as compared to prior to injection. However in right eye I see improvement. Is it temporary side effect of injection or need to worry. My retinal doctor suggested to wait for a week. He checked for retina which is good, no infection. Kindly share your thought on this.

Dr. Mich when did you feel that your lens is getting opaque (Cataract formation) and how long did you have it and you decided to have cataract surgery? I had my 3rd ozurdex last sunday and for the very first time my eyes got so blurry and still blur right now. My doctor told me no old bleed in the vitreous just catarct formation at the center. I am feeling anxious with this. thank you if you respond to this. I have Uveitis for 4 years and my doctor said its a idiopathic one.

Hi, I developed a cistoid macluar Edema after my IOL implant on my right eye, in 11 days after the surgery, I am 42 years old, and my doctor prescribed me some anti inflamatory drops and some vitamin pills. I was told that these macular edemas that appear after surgery will resolve in most of the cases by themselves. I have no diabetes or other deseases. Is this true that moste of these cases reslove by themselves ?
@jgunther33982 жыл бұрын
i guess if i was you i would ask the doctor who said they resolve themselves how much time you should allow for it to resolve itself before you seek treatment. same happened to my left eye after my iol. when i went back to my surgeon complaining of that problem he immediately sent me to a retina specialist who did the injection and fixed it.

I’ve had this condition for several years. The condition improves after the Ozurdex injection but after a few months my vision deteriorates . I probably get 2 injections per year but the condition always returns. I am told this is about all that can be done for my problem but some day it may go away or I may have it the rest of my life. Any comments on other treatments.

I wish there was a medicinal implant for wet macular degeneration. I found out yesterday that the dry version I was diagnosed with three years ago has morphed into the wet version.. Central vision in my left eye is already dead and gone. I get no joy out of the thought of going numerous times for the rest of my life ( I am 70) to have a needle inserted into my eye.
