As far as I understand, Steve-o Irwin brought awareness of animal life. He became a national treasure. We loved him - we still love him. I actually have an action figure of him (Night Rescue) still in the package. PETA's angle has always been to segregate us from wildlife or hypocritically send the message of animals being victims - Irwin saved many animals. So fuck PETA.. Steve's heart was always in the right place and I will always respect him and his work. "Have a look at this little beauty!!" 💛🐍🐊🐢🇦🇺

Official statistics released by Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) through freedom of information requests, PETA's shelter killed 94.8% of all animals they took in from 2007 to 2011 - a total of over 10,300 animals. According to the article I read PETA employees kill 84% of animals in their custody within 24 hours, clearly making no effort whatsoever to find any solution but the slaughter of mostly healthy pets. A newer article mentions PETA's 2014 rate is 81% and references that "In some prior years, that rate has risen above 90 percent." PETA really doesn’t know wtf it’s talking about. Steve Irwin did handle animals a lot, but the benefits of making people care are so great, it’s a negligible sacrifice in comparison.

Steal kids pet bunnies to kill because "they would rather be dead than in a household" 2. Freeze and kills hundreds or even thousands of dogs and cats and try to cover it up. 3. Like you said I don't think we should discount the benefits of getting people interested in conservation even if it means that some animals will be exploited to accomplish this. Not at all. Whatever complex behaviour we evolved to socialize and put our emotions into, these social mechanisms are for people and we're not even sure how to handle that properly. Animals get eaten alive and are played with for fun by other animals They have no consciousness for the most part and there's nothing evil about animals killing another animal, that's nature - It's killed and be killed out there and we come with our "harrassing" and "Exploiting" when someone's holding an animal for EDUCATION. Everyone's a victim, even a fucking snake - yeah, stop celebrating the guy that has the balls to jump on a FUCKING CROCODILE, focus on the poor exploited and harrassed crocodile. Your level-headed, nuanced approach to various subjects is in short supply these days and it is incredibly refreshing and impressive. PETA is a prime example of initial good intentions and activism that shits in its own bed. Their early work against laboratory animal testing, crafting the Animal Welfare Act, bringing awareness and positive change to the abuse of animals in film, etc. was excellent and commendable. But then, for whatever reasons, they began devolving into a fanatical organization that lost all sense and perspective. Keep up the great work, you lovely bastard; really looking forward to seeing you and Mozza returning on Catch Up.

Bluberry Feminism is very relevant today, if more nuanced than before. Not to say that everything that is promoted is right, but to say that societal prejudice doesn’t exist is false. That’s what feminism is about now- the deeper and more intricate workings of society, the messages children are given and the things they are taught about themselves, their bodies and their possibilities. As a guy, I can very much see why feminism is important.
@Danovio5 жыл бұрын
Feminism is not relevant today, you dont have to be a feminist to belive in equality or human rights. Feminists ignore the male gender, infact they keep speaking of males as if they are potential rapeists just for being males. Great way of makeing little male children grow up hateing themselves. Strange how femnists are all up in arms when a man kills his wife, but when a woman kills her three children and herself, SILENCE!! Strange how they want equality but they dont want to be accountable as men. Ohh so a man raped a 14 year old with his wife, he gets 6 years but she gets 1 year, where were the outrage then? No fuck todays feminism, these feminists talk about how men do this and that, yet they dont have the balls to protest in areas that are being controlled by islamic beliefs.

I believe you do as well, but you’re conflating feminism with a more radical ideology. Isolated incidents are not indicators of the general view of society- extreme things from all groups take place from all sides of the political spectrum. We all deserve love. All of us. That’s what feminism stands for, and I stand with it. I want my daughter to one day grow up in a world who accepts her, just as I would for my son. PETA needs to get fucked. The double chinned flabby cunts need to remember what Steve Irwin said about people being more interested in and curious about the animal world when you get them excited about and emotionally invested in them. Cause obviously rn very few if any people give actual fucks about animals these days. Most people are paying attention to Kim Jong Un or Trump or other political things while we loose over a few thousand species of multicellular organisms every day. Every marine and tropical species we lose is another medical breakthrough forever removed from our grasp. It’s also another imbalance added to the food chains of the world. All because after Steve Irwin died it became harder to do what Steve Irwin wanted which was to get people interested and curious and emotionally invested in the animals that we share the earth with. Fucking PETA forgot about that. They totally forgot about that. Steve Irwin was a huge friend for animals and through Irwin there was a lot of potential cause people listened and paid attention and enjoyed watching on TV around the world and learning. Now that he’s dead, not so much, yet here’s PETA actually deciding to make an enemy of Steve Irwin’s Legacy. Get fucked PETA cause PETA’s being a Backstabber.

Perhaps we should actually respect animals and set an example of not exploiting them, then we wouldn’t need to lock them up to protect them from... us. If you want to go after people hurting animals have a start with the chinese fishing fleet's that are doing so much damage. Or the killing or stealing and selling of sea life for profit. We only charge people to see the animals because it's not free to feed and house the animals and we as workers barely make enough to live. We are not forcing them into cages in any way and that's the comment that tells me you have zero experience with the job and just have an opinion. Unfortunately people that are thinking they are helping the animals by taking the shelter down are literally the people that will kill off a species. Speaking as calmly and as non-hostilely as possible: Even *IF* we accept the idea that having animals as entertainers is wrong, let us also keep in mind what the Irwins were doing. They were showing off these animals to bring attention to the plights of their species. The closest human equivalent would be going off to an endangered part of the rainforest where there's a tribal culture and performing a documentary with them and interacting with them. Yes, it may be wrong to interfere with these people's daily lives, but it's a minor annoyance as compared to the danger bearing down on them. What they did was raise money to ensure that more animals in the wild can stay in the wild. So, their goal and achievements (lest we forget that the Irwins are actually successful) are in parallel with the requests that PETA *claims* to support. The Irwins are financially successful, yes, but they used that wealth to expand their zoo and related conservation efforts, not roll around in a Rolls Royce like a bond villain. Now, speaking less calmly: Fuck. You. PETA.

I'm very protective of children like most people and get scared with even the slightest of danger around kids. However, I had zero anxiety when I watched Steve Irwin hold Robert in front of a croc, even the first time that I watched it. There is a respect and trust that people have for the Irwins which comes naturally and is not at all because of the things they say but because of their work. It speaks for itself.

@fuckpeta54823 жыл бұрын
@Jace The Man It is NOT true, it is just a load of shit that Peta pulled out their ass. Unless you have seen the footage of him "harassing" the ray, which no one has, you should not be smearing this shit all over the internet.

@Jace The Man so Irwin swam over the ray.. ..so im not sure it could be called "harrassing a ray" certainly it may have been a bit bothered but rays are typically skiddish and would jsut swim away.. that was that planned shot..as the stingray will often lose the barb in the attack so using the barb is of last resort.. often the barb is only deployed when the a ray is stepped on.. .. but unpredictably the ray attacked.. wild animals can do wild things.. but to say he harrassed the ray into attacking is a bit of a stretch.. he was careless for a moment... and horribly unlucky.. i mean the barb hit him in the heart.. it easily could have been lodged in a rib .. just it somehow slipped thru...just terribly unlucky and sad.. perhaps he was a bit eccentric and a risk taker at times... but in no way does/should that damn his character... Steve Irwin is a legend and saint amongst those whom care for the well being of animals and the natural world ..

I’d like to drop a story about the geniuses known as PETA. There was a laboratory in Minnesota that use lab raised rabbits testing shampoos. So PETA in all its infinite wisdom broke into this lab. They broke the rabbits out to “set them free.” Here’s a little info about what w was going on in Minnesota at that time. It had snowed nearly 30 inches and the temperature was -30 degrees outside. Keep in mind that the rabbits were born in the lab and had never lived in the wild. So as PETA did this great liberation that its ran about 100 yards and dropped dead. So take what these nimrods say with a grain of salt.

PETA doesn't give a crap about animals. They euthanize about 96-99% of the animals they"rescue" and use the money they raise to line their pockets. They're the worst sort of hypocrites there are. Look it up, the information is readily accessible.

Steveo was the coolest guy on animal planet! I was a kid when he passed away, and was one of the worst days of my childhood. I wished that they would have made a National Steve Irwin day forever ago, still wish they would, he was nothing less than a hero and inspiration to everyone who wanted to go after their dreams!
