funny how we can do that in our "spare time" but most cops can't be bothered to act right even when they are getting paid. They make good money, but harassing people is half the job, and that is just a fact. One cold, hard fact for you. Every officer swears an oath to uphold and protect our Constitution, but pretty much every cop violates their oath directly by going Mr X on someone, or indirectly by not applying the law to fellow officers as THEY do so--letting them get away with criminal activity that costs taxpayers millions. There are no good cops. Only good one I saw was a female cop, who had to drag her superior off of her suspect while he brutalized him and assaulted him and threatened to merder him while he was in handcuffs and passively resisting, just wasting time: she's the only good cop I've seen, she stopped the criminal activity, and her CAPT turned around and choked her publicly for doing so. I don't think anything happened to him either. I hope she reconsiders her gang affiliation before someone gets the drop on her, thug, or fellow officer. What's the difference.... I hope she moved on to better things. Maybe some other good cops quit, or maybe if they are old school and made it, retired. But there really are ZERO good cops. Not anymore. Maybe the Sheriffs that uphold Constitution and publicly state they will not enforce unconstitutional jibberyjoo at the state level and told others they have no right either, to enforce the law constitutionally, as sworn to. But yea, NO GOOD COPS!

As Mike points out, cops are allowed to lie to suspects. And in some cases, I agree with that (a cop who is working undercover shouldn't need to blow that cover simply by being asked if they're a cop, for example). But there are plenty of times when a cop's lies are basically entrapment, and that really SHOULD be illegal and any evidence gained that way should be thrown out. The fact that doesn't happen shows just how far the legal system is from any form of justice.

@@balmorrablue3130 I've never understood how the cellphone laws are justified. It' just another overreach of power and an excuse to generate revenue. Especially, when almost every single car that is manufactured now has a GIANT screen built in to the dash console, with interface buttons that require you to take your eyes off the road to operate. You can even hook your phone into them and turn it essentially into a giant phone or navigation screen, if the vehicle itself does not have built in GPS navigation with destination option. Talking on a phone is no less distracting than listening to music or podcasts while driving, eating/drinking or having a conversation for that matter. If that is considered dangerous and distracting, then all of those things are equally distracting. I'll tell you what is also distracting. Those stupid computers that comps are always pecking on, including while they are driving. There have to be dozens of videos on youtube alone that shows cops pecking on those things while driving, sometimes even during highspeed pursuits. Including a few where officers have almost rear ended someone because they were busy on them.

It has nothing to do with what you're implying. There are multiple incidents where an auditor knows and vocalizes his rights yet still has his rights violated. The officers simply could've chose not to listen to this victim and arrested him like they do most of the time. It has nothing to do with him vocalizing his rights. It has everything to do with either they didn't feel like vioating his rights, or they didn't want to for other reasons, maybe because he's white etc.

I, personally, think they were thrown for a loop the minute he said he is a former cop. Their egos kept it going for a while, but when he really got strong about it and called them all liars, twisters of words against citizens, etc., they decided they really should back off. I think his being a former cop and knowing just how they operate told them what was ahead of them should they push it too far.

But I have no proof of this and the mother is no where to be found to back up my claim. Can he still pull over that guy to investigate? I don't need proof to involve the police I don't think. Again, not knowledgeable on laws. And as you saw in the video, the guy WAS following her. Regardless of the fact that it was his job to tail or not. If the police recieve a call from anyone (especially a young woman) saying, hey, there is this guy following me. I'm scared. Then of course they are going to investigate. On the other hand, say they ignore the same call and the young lady goes missing or is found dead? How do you think the public will react when the police knew that she might be being followed and deliberately did nothing/ignored it? 911 dispatch would be fired, officers would be demoted or fired. Are you trying to tell me they should have ignored it? Keep in mind that she was IN FACT being followed.

Is he a PI or is he stalking the complainant? He refused to provide any credentials to prove he was nothing more than a stalker. All this is his fault. I had a weirdo following me for a few months, talking to my friends at their businesses asking questions about me. When asked by them who he was he claimed to be a PI. He gave his name to one of my friends who relayed it to me. I had noticed him following me. I checked with our State Police Intelligence unit and he had zero credentials as a PI. Long story short once I had his name I found out where HE lived. Suffice to say the stalking stopped, but I'm a man who handles my own business. If he were doing the same to a female I could understand her alarm. It's creepy, and this guy's a creep. How bout I follow you around Lackluster? Sit outside your house with binoculars for hours and if you call the cops I refuse to answer questions? Good with that? Alrighty then. Maybe I'll be see in ya, literally. It's odd that the police officer didn't outright ask for a P.I..license but I'd suppose that driving behind someone doesn't qualify as any potential offense which would require him to identify himself at all. @@mc50992 exactly my point! You say "If a PI was caught watching someone's property at night (in Ontario) where " prowl by night" is an offence, then a private investigator ID would be justified and required" That's just the tip of the iceberg of what private investigators can do legally do to Everyday citizens that would normally qualify as illegal stalking and invasion of privacy, and many more broken laws... Apparently it's okay to invade someone's privacy, stalk them, look into their house at night with binoculars, etcetera if you're PI.... Creepy in my opinion A man spying on an young woman like the story above is not anymore okay just because he has a " P.I. license" ir not IMO. Basically, it's a license to be a creep. If there was a way to prevent that happening that would be great, but there is no way to prevent crime only a way to manage it via the law through significant consequences. Anyway if you feel it’s ok for the police to stop you on your way to work because your ex-girlfriend, wife, mean neighbor, etc make a claim then that’s cool, but I am grateful that police technically require more evidence than that to interrupt my day.

I have done so on several occasions and even then there were a couple of times that I could have gotten myself in trouble if the cop had been paying closer attention. One key technique is to always qualify your answers. “I think.....”, “maybe.....”, “I could have....”, “it might have” and other leading phrases that leave you the opening to change your statement later, without risk of perjuring yourself.

I think a better expression would be that the job of police is to assign blame. They're looking for someone to blame for something. That being said, talking to them is completely harmless 99% of the time, and all of this encouragement to "never" talk to them is asinine. You shouldn't talk to them if you're suspected of a crime. And it's typically going to be pretty obvious if you're suspected of a crime. And you will know, obviously, if you committed one. This guy was asked pretty much from the outset if he was an investigator. And this entire ordeal could have been avoided had he just answered that question and provided some proof. Instead he chose to grand stand. And that's fine; it's his right. But don't act like you're being persecuted because you didn't feel like answering a simple question. Ultimately, it's your decision if you prefer enduring the needles hassle of this sort of encounter, than answering a few questions. Personally, unless I'm being investigated for something serious, I'm just going to answer the questions and be on my way. (Because I literally always have been on my way, within minutes, after answering a few questions.) Unlike this guy I don't have a lawyer on retention, and no one's going to care if a cause a ruckus.
