Original Gurmukhi Inscription: “ਸਮਤ ੧੮੮੮ ਮਾਹ ਜੇਠ ਦੀ ੧੦ਵੀਂ ਤਾਰੀਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਹੋਇਆ। ਇਹ ਕਮਰਾ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਪੜੀ ਹਉਂਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਾ ਹੋਰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਲਿਖਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵਰਗਵਾਸੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਿਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ।” Transliteration: “Samvat 1888 mah Jeth di 10vi tarikh nu eh kam hoya. Eh kamra Maharaja Ranjit Singh di mohni padi haunde vich karvaya gaya si. Is da likha hor dasda hai eh pathar likhvai vich swargwasi Gurmukh Singh mistri de hath da likhia hai.” Translation: “In the year 1888, on the 10th day of the month of Jeth, this work was completed. This room was constructed during the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The inscription further states that this stone was inscribed by the late Gurmukh Singh, the mason, whose hand wrote this.”

There are still many Hindu temples and Gurdwaras which are converted to madrasas. In India there is only one Mosque which is converted to a temple. This mosque was originally a Hindu temple and when Mugals Muslims came they converted it to a mosque. In India there are thousands of historical Muslim buildings and mosques which are not destroyed and no one has touched them. Destroying any religious building is bad, it doesn't matter if it is a mosque, gurdwara or temple.
