I love seeing imperfect plants and hearing plant parents talk about plant issues. Those lights are in my home too and they're so weak I keep them 3 inches away from my plants. I'm seeing lots of growth and no burning so I guess I'm good.

They get the job done, sorta! Better than nothing, for sure!

A large-scale grower of Alocasias told me he waters them with salicylic acid to prevent bacterial spotting (it stimulates the immune system). He told me it works. 500mg to 3 gallons.

I do not change my propagation water either but I add H2O2 from time to time

Love it!!! Is there a certain ratio for adding Hydrogen Peroxide to water propagation ? Or is it a few drops per container?
@PlantFriendDownTheStreet3 жыл бұрын
I usually just add a healthy squirt, but you don’t want to exceed a tablespoon per cup. Happy propagating!

@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet How often do you add it?
@nursegmez50553 жыл бұрын
Get a water bottle (16-17oz) fill its top cap w/ Hydro. P. Then pour it, close it, shake it. Ready to use or store(label it).

@@nubbyrose87 I don’t add more to the old water, I just add it to the new water when I change it. I usually change the water every week or when it starts looking nasty.

I’m confused by her saying that misting the leafs will burn the white parts. Other people say the opposite that the leaves burn because the leaves are to dry and you should mist.

Its interesting that you can add H2O2 to water for propagation ( yes i use it during propagation but that only during me preparing the cuttings to callous and keep them safe from funky stuff) So what's the percentage of H2O2 suggested to add into water?
@PlantFriendDownTheStreet3 жыл бұрын
I don’t get so precise as to have a percentage but I usually have at least a few cups of water and I probably add a tablespoon at most. Don’t exceed a tablespoon per cup of water and you’ll be fine… that much is only really necessary if you are trying to kill bacteria on roots that have some rot on them.
