I set up the cheapest grow tent off Amazon and the plants don’t care how much it cost as long as they are getting what they want it’s working great tfs

I don't mind the look of the growtent but I want to see my plants. They should do a tent with the front clear so you can see through and the sides and back reflective from the inside so that it maximises light. I don't see any like that around.

This one has a window that you can cover up with a Velcro panel, but I agree that it’s not ideal to see the plants. That’s why I really love the grow tent for rehabs and shop plants, but I do think the milsbo is better for maintaining nice plants that are ready to be put on display. Ideally, I would have both!

I was thinking… you don’t get to enjoy your plants if they live like that…

Her plants are spectacular. I just recently got a queen anthurium chonk and it put a leaf out immediately for me. I'm so happy but so scared to not have a grow tent for once she's larger and out of my prop box. Thank you for showing how well they really do work

Hi Ari! Glad you liked the plants! I talk about queen anthurium a lot on my channel and I actually have that one in the grow tent living out in ambient humidity now and it’s doing pretty well. Once they have really robust roots, they don’t need or even really like so much humidity in my experience. Mine is in a self watering lechuza pot on my dresser now. Totally doable as long as you have a healthy plant and it also helps if you transition them slowly. Queens really like consistency ❤️🪴

@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet hey! I heard you say you would NOT recommend leaving a queen in moss, what DO you recommend? I had some come in recently and haven't had to deal with re-rooting a queen before. 🥴😅
@PlantFriendDownTheStreet3 жыл бұрын
@@lrj222 Hi Lori! If a queen comes in and has healthy roots, moss should be ok as long as you have somewhere with high humidity to put them and don’t pack the moss in too tight. When I get queens that have zero roots, I have had pretty consistent success rerooting them in the grow tent in an orchid pot with slats on the sides in a mix of course perlite (rinsed) and sphagnum moss, with the pot sitting in a reservoir. Of the ten or so queens I’ve brought in, I’ve only had one take off immediately in sphagnum moss, and I also had two,that were unrooted, rot in the perlite mix, but I think it was because they were already struggling when they arrived. Queens are difficult. If they do look like the roots are ok and you do opt for moss, just make sure to check the roots after a few weeks and remove any that did end up rotting. I’ve found the more mature the plant, the better it responds to being rerouted. Good luck!

I did buy it for the shop and to trade with my friend who has some amazing things! It really hurt to drop the cash but hopefully I’ll be able to recoup the investment.

Good thing with the grow tent is you can force flower just by light timing to 10 13 hours on rather than 16 hours on.

I don't get the statement that most people who have the ikea cabinet probably should have grow tents. I honestly don't see the point for me. The entire reason I have plants is to beautify my space. But I'm glad that they're available for people who want to cultivate the more difficult species.

I totally feel your pain. That one really hurt a lot, but I just had to tell myself it was an investment for the shop. I’m hoping to have them available for less than that eventually, it would be for a smaller plant but if you’re still looking early next year, maybe keep an eye out. 🪴

@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet It would definitely be a good investment for a shop! I’ll keep an eye out 😊
