Thank you for your Videos and ur time. I'm a disabled army vet an u have saved me an my family thousands I got only error message Damn P2290. With idle that surges but fixed that with new icp.Next I knew to check ipr an from there High pressure oil system aka weak hpop. An a sticky turbo which I replaced due to dealership filings the fins an clunky sound don't want it to blow an take my truck out. There are lot of shops that are shady an take advantage of us. I was charged for rear main seal to be replaced 800+ an less than yr later leaking as well as oil pan an deck lid. This is my first an last Ford diesel. Take Lota heat from my family aka dad cuz he switched to dodge an gets 23 in town an 26.3 highway with his 6spd. Thank u again sir.

The pipe is the coupler on the 03-04 style. About half the bearings are missing and the other is half is by the pump. So far no customers have stepped up and paid for the fishing expedition so I guess they are still in there. There's a lot out there like that.

It's just low pressure. It could be a leak, restricted or failed ipr screen/valve, wiring, pcm or a weak pump on 03-04. I have only found 05 and up either good or bad and only ever a few bad 05 style.

Love all your videos, I have the scan gauge and I'm getting 3-7 psi on the Icp, pulled the IPR and its clean, did the stc a while back, dummy plugs also, your thoughts Low oil pump or bad irp ?

Why does the ball bearing go out is it because of the aluminum housing. I did both my trucks same problem. And know I'm wondering it's going to happen again at 150k down the road.

Hi Ron, great videos by the way, I am stumped on a engine I just did for a client and this 6.0 ltr is all new, I did the heads stc fitting and 2 injectors, also I changed the ICP sensor as well, here is the thing there is black smoke on idle and won't go away, it has a banks six gun tuner in it that my customer had it installed 2 years ago can you let me know where to start stabbing to rectify the problem, I have an ipr valve that I got but want to make sure it's that maybe? Can you help me out

Killing you batteries and then killing you alternator multiple times and jump-starting/charging batteries is sure way to death for the FICM in a 6.0l . Even just once can do it! Usually it hasn’t been starting good for awhile beforehand. Cheers!!! Missing R

Ron have a 03 6.0 shut off while driving, ficm 48+ ipc 85% icp low, low pressure oil filled filter cup ok, did not do a air check. pulled it down thinking the ball was popped out but to my dismay it is not... icp never got high enough to start. 116k on the excursion,is there another fault that happens with the pumps? reinstall the hpop and do a air check?thanks.

hi Ron I have a 2004 with a 2003 6.0 motor, ambulance package it a f250 pickup where is the ipr sensor it was running fine came back out to start no start but I did notes that my turbo whistle there then not , my turbo is always been load from the frist day my friend bought it from deal it got 2 alts please let me know I don't see it thanks

Ron, i have a Ford F350 Dually 2004 that when you press on the pedal floored you have no power, it slowly picks up speed but til it does it almost feels it is going to shut off, slowly the turbo builds up and then kicks in, if i am towing something heavy i will never get out of the spot i am in, it is like pressing the brakes and fuel at the same time, it is diesel and it wont move, if i am not on a hill then i can tow and it will build up and eventually move, is this saying i dont have enough oil and need a better oil pump or is my injector gone or both, i recently had a company work on my truck for 2.3 years and put twin turbo and a bunch of other things but they could have done other wrong things as i see on the internet others have been duped by the company, please any help is greatly appreciated as this is my work truck and has cost me a fortune, thanks

This comment is as far as I know, all knowledge and cannot guarantee is right. Powerstroke is the only Diesel engine out of the 3, cummins and dura max being the other two, that have different way of running. Ford put in a super dumb HPOP and they also did things different with the indirect injectors and direct injectors. Best way to go about your problem bring it to a trustworthy garage and see what they say.

Ron, I have an early 04 6.0 with lots of gray smoke and rough idle. egr deleted, headstuds, oil cooler and blue spring. smoke smells like oil and diesel. it was throwing a p0281 code, then that cleared, threw a cylinder 2 contribution/balance code. i know the icp is leaking, i found that, but could my hpop also be bad? this is my only vehicle and i need it to be running

Sounds like your blowing oil. on a turbo that'll fill the intercooler with oil; but why? These will all blow oil as far as I know.1st check the air filter, 2nd if that's good time to check Crank case pressure [start vehicle, pop hood, unscrew oil fill cap, flip it over on the oil filler hole, whilst watching cap have a bro rev the engine.] If the cap sucks down to the filler hole,THEN you have negative pressure. That's good! If the cap falls off idling or whilst they rev the engine... that's a positive pressure and certainly you will have oil in your, flame trap, intercooler & inside the Turbo. '' is your oil filler cap is not CONCAVED [DOMED]"

THEN USE SOMETHING DOMED AND APPLY THE SAME EXPERIMENT. > is down (]>=concave cap or )]>=convected cap... You need a concave domed anything to set upside down on the oil filler hole in order to see what it does.

Ron, everyone tells us to "simply" remove the heat shield lol. how do you get to the bolt behind the hpop on the passenger side that holds the heat shield to it? tried from the bottom top sideways and cant get it out.

Ford repaired the stc fitting on my hpop of my f250 under its warranty. fast forward to when i tore it down to do headstuds. I found they literally cut that mounting tab off the hpop cover. i guess thats one way to do it. lol

Venise Eder what about now? My truck had a HPOP done a few days ago and the mechanic said it turns on already. So i went and picked it up, and i know my truck, something was wrong. It starts fast, moves through gears regular, but going 50mph+ it picks up slow and i can see the temps going too hot and too fast too. 210°+ Before that, it used to pick up way faster at any speed. Also a brand new sound since i got it back appeared. Its this humming sound when the gas pedal is pressed. What did the mechanic fail to put back or whats it missing? Im about to change the fuel filters.. ill see if it works with mine.

Hi i have a 03 powerstroke and it wont turn on, it all started when it lost some power then it turned on and was working rough and then it wouldnt turn on again, i replaced icp sensor and ipr valve and it still doesnt turn on. Any ideas?

I have a 04 excursion 6.0 hard to start mornings only. Takes about 4 to 5 long starter tries before it will fire. After it's usually good the rest of the day as long as it doesn't set for a long period. Does that sound like the HPOP? anybody?

05 F350 6.0 etc. I've owned the truck for years. All the heads of been redone rocker studs and all that good stuff. Yesterday twice the truck shut off just like turning off the key. Today I sat in a driveway for about an hour with the truck idling all my numbers were good but the truck died for a quick second and my ICP went down to 105 and then pop back up to over 600. What would cause the ICP to drop for a Split Second? Sometimes it takes a few minutes to restart other times it will catch itself and keep running. Ficm good, IPR & sync all good. Great volts.
