The Legend Lives On, in part because of Tom Walton, once a Porter in the Mighty Edmund Fitzgerald turned Editor of the Toledo Blade, shares his thoughts on the Fitz with his chief aim being to preserve the memory of the 29 men who went down with the mighty ship on November 10, 1975. Walton lost his uncle Ralph G. Walton (Oiler) on the Fitz. His father, working on a different Columbia Transportation ship that terrible day, served as the Fitz's Chief Engineer for several seasons. Few people left on earth as connected to the story as Tom is. This conclusion of the 3-part series includes a visit to Capt. McSorley's memorial marker at Calvary Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio, where McSorley lived with his wife Nellie, whom is also introduced in Part 3. So many thanks from the History Mystery Man to all the viewers who are part of this journey to keep the memories of the men alive. #HistoryMysteryMan #EdmundFitzgerald #LakeSuperior #GreatLakes
