I upgraded from a 3700X to a 5700X3D via a New Egg Black Friday combo deal that included the CPU, a B550 MSI MPG Gaming Pro mobo + 32GB of 3200 DDR4 RAM. All for $320! I swapped my new mobo with the 5700X3D with my older one with the 3700X. I opted to use the brand new Wraith Prism RGB cooler (AMD branded Cooler Master, btw) that came with my 3700X because I chose to use a Thermalright aftermarket cooler instead. Paired with a 6800XT, this setup will last me at least, three to four years (1440p, 4K depending on titles) when I'll upgrade at the tale end of AM5, or go directly to AM6. Like Jason says, it all comes down to if you're happy with the performance, and getting as much value from the hardware you buy.

I picked up a 7800 XT HellHound from Microcenter yesterday as an insurance policy against outrageous CES GPU pricing. I'm just going to sit on it until we know what's going on with nVidia & AMD in 2025. #1 - The Gigabyte B650M is a terrible Motherboard, with super undercut 5 + 2 + 2 VRM's. Even on a budget, it should never be recommended. Spread some spare change, to at least get a B650 MSI Gaming + Wifi. I don't really know why you went for mATX cases (both builds) for the budget... You can find something like a Montech 903 Max which is a little bit more ($15 more), which is a way better buy: which you get a true Mid-Tower, and you get 4 *140mm fans, that are also pre-installed. If you keep everything else the same, and in the context of the B580 being sold out, you still fall within the budget

Another issue with that Gigabyte board is that PBO doesn't work on it. You're right, it's not a good board at all. Edit: I guess PBO was fixed; it WAS a big issue with the lower end Gigabyte boards not supporting it.

Yes, as I say in the video it's a weaker VRM, and if you wanted an upgrade the MSI Pro B650M-A is where I'd go to. But the VRM is perfectly adequate for even a Ryzen 9800X3D, not that I'd buy this board with a $479 CPU.

My next upgrade is going to be a 9700x and 50series or RDNA4 (depending on the performance of the 9070xt). People keep asking me why i haven't upgraded to like a "4070ti or 7900xt" and honestly my answer is pretty simple i just don't feel like putting more money into AM4. that extra 800-1000$ could literally be spent on new parts for my New AM5 Upgrade.

A beginner shouldn't buy used, learn more about pcs in general first (maybe by your third build or so you can try used, second if you really do research) But in general, check for rust/oxidation/physical damage ( DO NOT buy any cards with those issues, not worth the risk) Check benchmark (using furmark) temps and performance to see if its normal for the card (Check hotspot temp aswell, I got fucked over by not checking hotspot temps one time, the used card died within 6 months). Meeting up personally (preferably in his house) is basically a must for me.

We'll have to see when they announce but the important thing is to wait. See our "GPUs launching in 2025" video for more on what we are expecting

I would always buy an OEM PSU like Seasonic over Corsair, mainly because they make PSU for Corsair among others. Then Corsair just adds cool stickers and a 40% price boost.

I bought a prebuilt with the Ryzen 7700, ASUS Dual 4070, 1TB NVME, 16GB RAM (1 stick) 😮, 750w PS, in a Hyte Y40 case for $1075.

Hey man, hope you are happy with the build, that's really good specs for 1k. I'd recommend getting another stick of ram though, so you get dual channel memory
@dealerauctionnightmare468912 сағат бұрын
@superloko9926 I thought it was sold with 2 sticks but, only had 1. It's a Geil and I couldn't find another one. So I picked up a 32GB Ram set locally.

How can I send you my build to help me boost it? I actually used a build you recommended in a video a few years ago for a $1000 1440p build and it has been great, just thinking of what could be a good way to start upgrading.

I made that same mistake with my 1st build when that card dropped because Nvidia and the price but after watching your videos I switched my cars to RX6800 and night and day and I think I paid at the time $349 for that card or &379 around there but it’s been a beast at 1440p for me I play heavy RPG games and most on max settings .

I was going to buy an rx 7900 xt for $629 but I saw the red devil for $40 more and I jumped on it, I also found a ryzen 9 9900x for $319. I do play games but this will be more for renders, video editing and photography so I felt the extra cores would help. Now I’m just waiting for everything to come Edit: I’m upgrading from an intel gen 8 cpu and a 1080ti. It’s taking about 45 minutes for each photo to finish on something like Lightroom classic. Hopefully this speeds it up by a lot.

@PCBuilderChannel14 сағат бұрын
So glad to help! First thing I would consider going 7700X instead as the 9700X doesn't give much performance over it for the price. But either way yes good board

I’m not really an elitist or anything, but in today’s market I don’t see the point in building a NEW pc sub 1k-1.2k unless you’re doing low level game. I feel like it would be dated within 2-3yrs the way games are developed now.

I currently have a 5800X3D with a RX 6800 XT. GPU seems to be bottlenecking the CPU. I've bought an AM5 Asus X670E-PLUS motherboard and 2x16 GB Cl 30 6000 MHz rams like you suggested in your videos , and I am aiming for nothing less than an RX 7900 XTX 24GB and I'm not settled yet on a CPU , I want to see the bench tests on those new Ryzen 9 X3D CPUs that are coming out vs the Ryzen 7 9800X3D before I decide so I am in no rush at all. Found the hellhound RX 7900 XTX 24 GB at a very competitive price but based on my findings , Sapphire Nitro or Merc XFX is what I should be considering for better clock speeds. I'm hoping the introduction of new GPUs will drop the prices of the older models.

@sebas-wi3xs7 сағат бұрын
So do you think 12gb is the minimum? I mean ,i play at 1080p idk if its fine with 8gb
@toad739510 минут бұрын
@@sebas-wi3xs It all depends on your uses. Obviously if you're on a budget build you'll have to go for a rx6600 at 180-200$ or so, maybe an intel card (never nvidia for this budget though). For 1080p, 8gb vram right now is fine but if you have more money to spend obviously it'd be much better to go for a 12gb even 16gb vram card (not the 4060ti) so your card can "last" longer
