Pablo Picasso: A collection of 855 works (HD)
Description: "Pablo Picasso was the most dominant and influential artist of the first half of the twentieth century. Associated most of all with pioneering Cubism, alongside Georges Braque, he also invented collage and made major contributions to Symbolism and Surrealism. He saw himself above all as a painter, yet his sculpture was greatly influential, and he also explored areas as diverse as printmaking and ceramics. Finally, he was a famously charismatic personality; his many relationships with women not only filtered into his art but also may have directed its course, and his behavior has come to embody that of the bohemian modern artist in the popular imagination.
It was a confluence of influences - from Paul Cézanne and Henri Rousseau, to archaic and tribal art - that encouraged Picasso to lend his figures more structure and ultimately set him on the path towards Cubism, in which he deconstructed the conventions of perspective that had dominated painting since the Renaissance. These innovations would have far-reaching consequences for practically all of modern art, revolutionizing attitudes to the depiction of form in space.
Picasso's immersion in Cubism also eventually led him to the invention of collage, in which he abandoned the idea of the picture as a window on objects in the world, and began to conceive of it merely as an arrangement of signs that used different, sometimes metaphorical means, to refer to those objects. This too would prove hugely influential for decades to come.
Picasso had an eclectic attitude to style, and although, at any one time, his work was usually characterized by a single dominant approach, he often moved interchangeably between different styles - sometimes even in the same artwork.
His encounter with Surrealism, although never transforming his work entirely, encouraged not only the soft forms and tender eroticism of portraits of his mistress Marie-Therese Walter, but also the starkly angular imagery of Guernica (1937), the century's most famous anti-war painting.
Picasso was always eager to place himself in history, and some of his greatest works, such as Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), refer to a wealth of past precedents - even while overturning them. As he matured he became only more conscious of assuring his legacy, and his late work is characterized by a frank dialogue with Old Masters such as Ingres, Velazquez, Goya, and Rembrandt."

No se repetirá Picasso, ni ninguno de los grandes. Ahora triunfan los ¿artistas? que presentan un plátano pegado a la pared o un vaso medio lleno de agua. El fin del auténtico arte.

I agree. So much is to be learned from this series. My VERY FAVORITE artist is Kandinsky. Also, there are quite a few artists that I have never even heard of! For instance, Paolo Panini, I was blown away by his paintings. You know, one lifetime is not enough time to learn all we would like to know. For instance, I am a painter and I get so inspired by artists like Kandinsky, Picasso and so many others. Well, God Bless you and your family :o)

one of the best memories with my father is we study the faith, dictorine, teaching, point of view and perspective of christian religions, then he said that the soul who cherish art are the one who has sacred heart. i was a kid when he told me and now that im not a kid i realize what the meaning of what he said. for my point of view Art is not all about faith and belief but art exist because the word of soul has perspective that need to express. everything we see, touch, smell and feel is the creation of Almighty that we called God even the those things created by human but i think God choose him as proof of spirituality. All Human is annointed by God even he is known as good or bad like the universe that we still dont know if he is happy or sad. i believe we are here to appreciate of what we had, so if you are in the good situation be thankful for your curiosity and creativity that still function. the meaning of our life is to know everything of how deep the capable of mind. people hate anything but human critize everything to understand the light and dark of the process of learning, so we can know what is all about the meaning of all form in life and art. explore everything you dont know because anything has something you cant believe that everyone need to know. violence are for the people who dont appreciate silence. if you think sin is wrong you still dont know the different in life of what we belong. im still ignorant and uneducated but we are human to be felt appreciated.

In his paintings we see & feel the grotesqueness of humanity, which Picasso, through his genius, made into a timeless art form. The older I get, the more appreciative I have become in understanding this particular contribution from Picasso. Reality is harsh and difficult to accept, such as the grotesqueness we all possess within ourselves. Visually, Picasso brought this aspect of humanity to our attention, allowing us to contemplate in a non-violent way, and perhaps through this attention, we could seek salvage, not revenge or harm to others.

This is utterly bullshit.. Just because the hype around his painting started from a few so wanna be people who acted as if they understood art and derive whatever meaning they wanted to and thus few more saw it as a highly sophisticated trend to distinguish themselves as passionate people of art from the mere common mindsets , more followed them like cows in a herd. It's all human psychology which puts values to everything only because of the result of the unnecessary hype around them. Pretty foolish people I must say. Tbh Michalangelo and Da vincci where the greatest artist ever to be born from my perspective. Coming back to picasso, his paintings are a complete bullshit, no seriously it looks like a kid just drew them out of boredom (And I'm sure one of you'll comment that i am the most foolish person who doesn't u derstand art) please geez.. I can draw better than him.. Period..

I recently went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and saw a few of his works. I was limited on time and had Picasso on a checklist along with a few others. I wasn't expecting to be awed by him, after all I had seen his work on screen. Then, I met Marie Therese as he did, reading at a table in a cafe. The thing about seeing a Picasso up close is that you can feel his paintings. Somehow while you stand in their presence, you stand in his. Aside from being a ground breaking artist, Picasso was also a bit of a ladies man (or womanizer take your pick). I get the artist thing, people love artist. What I could never wrap my mind around was how a jumbled series of shapes, could be so alluring to a potential partner. I think I get it now. Picasso didn't paint their bodies, he painted them. In heights of joy, in depths of sorrow so powerful, so real that it shattered reality. I would say that along with John Singer Sargent, Pablo Picasso was a favorite on the visit. Awesome stuff.

Pablo Picasso Through his pictures takes us to a different world, that we have left it from childhood to youth. The world which was very near to us when we were young. But as a grownups we left it and lost it. Therefore we are unhappy. But Pablo knew us better than ourself And he remeet us what we left and lost. Pablo takes us to that world where world becomes speechless And pictures start speaking. To express feelings through art is the real power of Pablo Picasso. Hats off to Pablo.

.. it's like another communication method that works...it's communication on another level that is inbuilt within all of us....what does abstract have in common with impressionism???... a templated type of memory???.. something we can all recall and relate to? It's like the mechanism in true time that is the 'in between' description or method that brings a recognisable conclusion.....it's how to express and experience an empathetic response.... Picasso destroys all language that will attempt to define image.... sensational, amazing,.... inspirational. REAL....I feel as though Picasso has a comical view of today's worldly inhabitants...

There is something about the persons in his paintings, you get the impression that they are real persons living in some universe, they feel so real
