You have inspired me to to get back into competitive running again. Sometimes, a win isn’t about the podium, it’s but lacing ‘em up and putting in your best effort.

You've definitely got it in you to improve your 5K time, reminds me of Narve Gilje Nordås who didn't think he had the speed, it needed to be worked on a bit is all. 150s/300s and 5K pace reps 90sec or more recovery💪🏻

Yes! I prefer stair stepper because it’s way easier to get my hr up and it works the legs more

Where do you find track meets as an adult who is not in college or a pro? It not some you see?
@AdamWoodRuns10 ай бұрын
They are actually a lot of people who run unattached in college/pro meets! A lot of unsponsored people still were a little/singlet of some type so it can be hard to tell :)

In another video you mentioned that you'd rather have shin splints than work out after work. I got shin splints while training for a marathon. Have you had them? How did you fix them? Did you keep running long distances while you had them?
@AdamWoodRuns10 ай бұрын
Biggest thing for me was getting into the right shoes (go to a running specialty store to get fitted). Look up rehab exercises for shin splints and do those every day. Exercises are more beneficial that stretching. Also Epsom salt baths really helped me as well :) I don’t recommend running through pain as it can turn into a stress reaction/fracture
@JoeCross9810 ай бұрын
@@AdamWoodRuns Thx for the reply. I'm going to take your advice on shoes. I switched to Glycerin 20s about 250kms ago and they never felt right. The splints started shortly after. I hate burning another $150 on a maybe, but your comment gives me confidence to pull the trigger. I've also been doing CrossFit, stretching and massage so I'm glad that lines up with your advice. I did a local 5k event with my dog yesterday (because I can't not run) and I'm pain free today. With new shoes, I'm sure I can get back to longer distances soon. Thx for inspiring this 50 year old to keep running 👴

How do you compare the Clouds with other carbon plate shoes?
@AdamWoodRuns10 ай бұрын
I really like them. Nice and responsive and very light. I would want something with a little softer for a marathon tho
@bukujayday963810 ай бұрын
lol I’ll never be that fast bro 8:30 pace is pushing it for me
@jonahmays10 ай бұрын
You’ll get there. Maybe not to his speed but as long as you want to improve and you aren’t constantly injured you’ll get better
@DannyHodgesrunning24710 ай бұрын
Ive been doing double thresholds and i wanna know if its good for me?
@a4761610 ай бұрын
Has your threshold speed/pace improved? Is your lactate at your old lactate threshold at your old pace changed at end or midway through workout or test from 3.5 to now you can run same pace with lower lactate at 3.0 or as low as 2.0? If it is, it's good for you. Race specific paces are important in combination
@DannyHodgesrunning24710 ай бұрын
@a47616 I don't test them, I just go by heart rate and difficulty. My watch isn't completely accurate but running feels a bit easier.
@AdamWoodRuns10 ай бұрын
It depends if you do it right. It can be hard without a lactate meter. What I’ve heard from most professionals who do test it is that it’s slower than you’d think. So it can be hard to execute correctly
