Such a breathtaking journey through the High Uinta Wilderness! The lakes, waterfalls, and mountain vistas are truly a gift for the senses. 🏞🎣 Your exploration of Packard Lake showcases the tranquility and beauty of the backcountry. The burned-out areas, while saddening, remind us of nature's resilience and regrowth. Your fishing adventure added an exciting twist to the trip, and those views from the cliff edge are simply heart-pounding! Thanks for taking us along on this unforgettable hike. 🚶‍♂🌲🎥

Looked a real nice day for hiking and I like no bikes allowed, hate it in the UK when you are on a nice quiet trail and then you get a shout "Out the way" and some mug fly's passed you on a bike at 25mph. We got the opposite of a heatwave here, must have been the wettest July on record! Shame to see the burnt down trees but good to see nature making a comeback. The canyon backdrop was amazing, especially with the water falling off the edge of the rocks - amazing views. First cast and almost a first fish and good to see you catching at this lake and I am having flashbacks on what a sunny day looked like. Cheers Alan

Hi Steve and Kristy! What a pretty day to go for a hike and fishing expedition! I love that there are so many lakes in the High Uintas! It sure was pretty all along the way- and what a perfect fishing spot! Too bad that you didn’t see the moose, maybe he laid down for a snooze. I have to go there because one of the pink flowers you showed is the Elephanthead! I have to go at the right time and see them, plus the other wildflowers. The waterfall and canyon area is breathtaking- that’s quite a rock wall that the water falls over, and so cool to see it right at the top. The burned out area is sad on the one hand, but wonderful that there is so much new growth. Have a great weekend! 😄 Nice fish! 🐟🐟

That guy with the double pack? I`m pretty sure I wouldn`t have gotten far even when much younger and fitter. I am so jealous now of the days when the trails were so easy. It was rare though that we had elevations like that you are feeling even in the Alps. In England the highest point is just over 3000ft. As always you have a great area to hike. Fabulous views, especially those cliff edge views, and also the excitement of wonderful wildlife about. The lake where you were fishing was beyond idyllic.

I kind of feel like hiking has grown in popularity. I can remember when we used to do a lot of hiking that there would be no one on even shorter easier trails. Now it seems hard to find one trail that doesn't have a few to several peeps on it. Did you guys have wildfires? You said burnt area, I think. I'm struggling to hear. Not sure why my stupid chromebook plays some videos super quiet and others are so loud. Two packs? Heck, I wouldn't even carry one like yours. Jessie would have to carry two. That way he could carry his and mine aaaaaaaahahahahaha. Man that lake is gorgeous! Nice waterfall. I love all waterfalls no matter how big or small. I just think they're really pretty. Amazing view from up there too! Wait! Was this a second lake on this hike? Now I'm confused lol. It is a pretty place to fish, but I'd probably just be taking pictures lol. Yikes don't sink. I don't know how you just go out in the waters like that. I'd be scared. You know if things like sinking! lol. Haha Kristy just give up and decided to sun herself. Nice catch. The one fish in the lake 😂I've felt that way fishing with Jessie. You sure it was a second one or was it the same one caught twice? LOL. Oh ok so it was two lakes. Ok that makes much more sense to me. Well if it's hot that's probably why no one is on the trail. Lots of cars to not see anyone on the trail on the way back. Where did they all go? Nice hike. Thanks for taking us along.

The green grass and wildflowers are coming in nicely. The young man was carrying his buddy's pack because he was suffering from asthma. He was pretty tough! There were several lakes along the way. Kristy teases me with the same fish joke all the time! LOL. This is a very popular trailhead with trails leading every direction. Thank you! I like this dead end spur trail Packard. The lakes, waterfall, and the overlook are beautiful. Even though the TH's in this area are typically busy you can still find some seclusion here.
