One thing I would implore anyone to consider when watching this video is... do I actually need this? KZbin videos love to make suggestions on products you should buy to both get views/subscribers and affiliate link revenue. I'm not here to tell you how to spend your money. Do what you want. I would, however, strongly suggest you consider how much you actually need any of these things. Maybe you realistically don't need any of these things, or maybe you would be perfectly fine with a much cheaper option that would accomplish the same thing. Save your money where you can.

So one thing I got from Amazon that I love travelling with but also wear regularly, is the Everyday California ‘Floating Waterproof Snapback’ Surf Hat. It's normally a 34USD hat that is waterproof. Although, this means it doesn't breathe, I love travelling with it to rainy places like the UK and Norway. The material is soft and it folds decently well. It's by no means super packable, but you can fit it between packing cubes or rolled clothes. I just pack it in the corner of suitcases or backpacks like an L shape. I just like having something that I can wear when I expect to wear a rain shell as well.

I'm an owala convert as well! My criteria for settling for it are 1) straw accessible, 2) covered spout/straw, and 3) one-handable (aka easy to open and drink using only one hand). I've looked through the popular brands and none met my criteria except for owala. Added bonus is if the content gets low enough that the straw doesn't reach it anymore, i can just tilt it back and take a swig to completely empty it. No need to remove the whole cover.

lunchbox labs Sling Bag is fast becoming my go-to for travel slings. It is a big bulkier than my usual sling, but can hold up a 24oz water bottle (including an Oawala), has security features on the zippers and strap, and is just minimal enough in its design to be used for anything from music festivals to sight seeing to conferences.

Unlike you guys, I do use my two-sided packing cube for clean/dirty. Specifically, I have an Acteon double sided packing compression packing cube that I use for underwear. I do a lot of regular traveling that doesn't need me to wash on the go, so I just pack enough underwear for the whole trip (usually 5 days) and put the dirty stuff in the other side. It stays the same size because it's just clean to dirty and I know at a glance what is clean and dirty. I have convinced my family to do the same thing. It just takes the guesswork out of the clean-dirty situation and I get home knowing what to wash. For the amount I travel, it is super helpful. Also, I use the thin Arcade belt--it is a must have for me as a woman. And I swear by the Side by Side "Passport Pouch." it is small, lightweight, fits what I need for a travel day, and is small enough that no one thinks it is too big for me to just wear on the flight. It fits my phone, wallet, chapstick, my epi-pen, a small lotion container, a tiny pen (that it comes with), It is truly a game changer for me.

My MOST essential Amazon EDC item: a RovyVon keychain flashlight. I’m surprised they didn’t mention lights in the video. Sometimes you need to see the bottom of your bag (particularly if the bag is lined in dark fabric), check charging ports for pocket lint, see a keyhole, look under your car, feel safe while walking along streets at night or ability to dazzle someone, etc. They can even improve photography or videos without causing the ugly flat look of phone cameras or loss of contrast, if you get a flashlight with a good bulb. I LOVE my RovyVon “A5.” It’s truly small, shorter than a house key so it can live comfortably on a keychain, even dangling from my car’s ignition without knocking on my tall-guy knees. Yet, it’s long enough to hold without being fiddly. It also glows in the dark, making it easier to find my keys sometimes. The single light switch controls a lot of modes, but it’s intuitive: click once to turn it on at low brightness - to save power, save night vision, and just look at something up close like in a bag - make it a step brighter with each single press, double click to turn it off, and if you need max brightness at any point just hold the button down - MUCH brighter than any phone, even with the special LED bulb. It’s a Nichia C bulb which has almost the full visible spectrum contained in its white light, so it really makes colors pop in photos & videos without introducing any flickering or unhealthy looking color tints. The battery is rechargeable, and even after 4 years I can still rely on it for over a month’s use. It’s the kind of product that had me stop looking for something “better” after 6 years of looking, and as I said I have used this almost daily for four years.
@geraldmcmullon24653 ай бұрын
I totally agree and use an A8X more because I don't have to struggle finding a dropped screw or tiny item when a really bright light will often put the spot light right on it. However I gave one to a friend and he offered it to his son as he never uses it. Gadgets not being of use seems to run in the family. His son said a pocket tool like a Swiss Army knife is never needed only to take a delivery for which he struggled to open until I handed him my SAK saying "Point taken" and then in trying to assemble the item needed a screw driver for which I handed back the SAK. Unlike the various Swiss Army knives I carry the RovyVon will not last 30 or more years. The battery can't be replace when it stops charging.

I was gifted the same TomToc Compact EDC sling (4.5L) except mine is in the “inky blue” color… I would have rather had any other color combo (except the basic black with invisible black interior), but you can’t really look a gift horse in the mouth, right? I love it, bring it with me everyday to keep a consistent place for cables and keys/wallet regardless of my pants choice, and it was absolutely awesome for taking out my Nintendo Switch Lite whenever I had to wait for something. Less social media doom scrolling 😂 The Inky Black colorway does have a light gray interior, which does help me see contents better than black fabric would have.

The UK and EU have plastic notes and they do not like to unfold and are worse if needing a triple fold for a credit card minimal wallet. Agree with all your points, but ouch $109! I bought one that trades price for a much bulkier item… but every other point still holds up! -Less space in a bag than 3 separate chargers, 3 cables -More organized, more minimalist -MagSafe is THE BEST for aligning wireless charging!! -Horizontal mounting of a phone is great for viewing content, or making a clock/reminder screen when not in use. -Helps charging cables last longer because you (or THAT family member👋) are not resting the phone on top of a cable bent to 90°
