yea internet is fun...I worked for google fiber and its a headache...like once the lines are layed along the street then they run it to a box on the side of the house n then a separate tech comes out to run in inside the house n install a box...so that whole thing was a headache to explain to ppl and sometimes we wouldn't know anything about construction and would get cussed out yay

Idk If I'm too late to save your couch, but cat pee needs special chemicals to be able to break it down, so get cleaners that are MADE to clean pet messes. I've used resolve pet carpet cleaner on a range of furniture before to clear out cat pee successfully, but I don't know what your couch is made of, or if that would wreck it. You can use a UV light to make sure the cleaner worked (it's gross, but necessary) because cat pee has fluorescent chemicals in it that glow under UV/blacklight. Normal cleaners (unless they're bleach, which WILL mess up fabrics obviously) won't work correctly to break down cat pee, and it's really gross what gets left behind. If your couch is too gross to save, I highly recommend getting pet cleaner for any future messes at least. Also recommend another cat litter box if the cats continue peeing outside their box, as it's recommended to have one litter box for every cat + an extra. I found it's good to have at least one litterbox for each floor as well, since as my cats got older, they couldn't always manage the stairs just to use the bathroom. I understand that not everyone can afford that many litterboxes, or keep it up, and not every cat needs that much, but it is recommended. Also my apologies if you already have all that set up, I hope your cats settle into the new place and stop stress-peeing soon!

Make sure to get a couch cover with the new couch so they don’t destroy the new one as well. They make couch cover specifically for animals. We had to buy one ourselves. One of the best investments I’ve made!

I thought that too! It would be very upsetting if the cats pee on the new couch. Maybe she puts some protection over it until the cats are comfortable in the new house 🐱

Cats are extremely territorial so moving to new places causes a lot of stress which is why they pee on the couch. Once they settle into the new place they will be fine and won't do it again. Usually when I move with my cats I would put them in a designated area for a few days to settle before letting them roam the new house so that they don't get overwhelmed and stressed.

I'm unsure if your against tools for dogs but something you could use is an invisible electric fence. Basically it's an electric collar that will beep if they try to cross the invisible fence. Some electric collars will zap them if they don't leave the fence but the zap won't hurt at all depending on what brand you go with. If you buy a very cheap one then it either won't work well or it will really hurt them. I own large dogs so idk if it's best for small breeds.
