some tips that’ve helped me: if you use a cloth packer you can safety pin it into your boxers so it doesn’t fall out, it’s much more secure and i’ve been able to avoid having any packer horror stories because of it. You can also diy a packer if you know some basic hand stitches, i used my old underwear from before i switched to wearing boxers for the fabric and it’s great because the fabric is comfortable and i was able to make it whatever size i want which is super helpful seeing as im a pretty short guy and most packers look huge on me lol

for people that want to try socks for packing i advise for wearing boxers over soft cotton briefs (the standard underwear idk). Put the socks in the boxer's pouch and you're good to go. No sensory issues or socks up against your stuff etc

i pack 24/7 (obvs excluding showers and stuff, i mean whenever im wearing underwear) and it works very well for me. so, heres description of how i (diy) pack!! so mine is made of a rolled up no-show style sock and one of those removable bra inserts (the one i use is just a circle shape so if yours is more triangle-shaped you might have to experiment with that on your own) and safety pins. the sock is very tightly rolled so the length of the sock makes up the girth of the packer and its only about 3 inches long. you might think this is small but trust me, smaller is better. and im by no means a small guy, im a slightly muscular midsize build and im 5'10" and this size is perfect for me. so, i use a safety pin to secure the rolled up sock to keep its shape. now the bra pad comes into play, this honestly isnt completely necessary, its rlly just to give a smoother kind of shape and i find it helps it look more shaped with my body. i use another safety pin to sucure the sock to the pad, the sock is placed in the middle but i leave a little sticking out the bottom to abstractly mimic a circumcised head shape, this also makes it so theres some empty space at the top of the pad where theres no sock. now heres how i wear it, i secure it to the fly section of my boxer briefs with more safety pins, one on each "empty" side of the pad with the "tip" of the packer facing down. if youre familiar with male underwear you know that theres almost a pouch-like area with an opening that cis guys can use to pull their appendage out to pee standing up. when it comes to placement you really just have to experiment yourself to find what works best for your body but like theo said, you probably have to go lower than you think. and, tighter boxer briefs or mens briefs (which i wear half of the time or during my menstrual cycle) can help make your pack look more "natural" or like its part of your body. i hope this helped a brother out, have a great day dude :)

yo I never really considered packing as an option because I thought it feels very weird. never tried it. also because of the issue that I have no idea what a realistic "thing" looks like, since I'm too dysphoric to have any sort of intimacy in my life. packing could still be an option for me to like... try out if I wanna have bottom surgery or not, because I'm still not sure if I'll be comfortable with that.
