Watching your videos is pure entertainment + you're showing me a part of the world I barely knew existed. I shake my head in disbelief every time I see you or any of your friends scoop water out of a source & drink it. I'll bet you don't even own a water filter. Out here in the Western Part of America, it is dry & building campfires are strictly prohibited. Creeks have much less water flow in prior years, sadly. Ponds have dried up or are much smaller than in prior years, sadly. Carrying & using my water filter when I want to Camel-UP is as much a part of a day hike as it is during overnighters. I always have my water filter with me, it's as much a part of hiking in my part of the world as wearing a pair of pants. I normally watch each video 3-5 times because they are so creative, beautiful, entertaining. KZbin channels like yours are few & far between. Thank you Matti/Stina for taking your time, effort, & equipment to show me the beauty of Sweden. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

Thanks again Bill! You are totally correct. I have no water filter. We are so lucky that we can drink the water straight out of the nature. 😀 I'm so happy for this and this is a reason to fight for the nature. There is big companies who wants to open mines her in the area but we will stand up against this as long as it's possible. /Matti

Terve Matti ! Thank you for this video. Such a beatiful place 🤩. i’m now planning summer 24 trip with packraft and maybe its time go Sweden this time. So spectacular views in there ! 🙌 i’ve been in vätsäri wilderness many times , which is probably the hardest wilderness in Finland but for packrafters its paradise. I was little surprised with one thing on your video. Backbags were sideways on the packrafts 😅. its more unstable when its that way. i did that too first , but couple of times the packraft flips over , when i landed from the lake. its more stable , when its lenghtwise in a bow. Then you have to put your feet underneath the bag, but its stable & easier to lift it to the land. Sorry about this ”hair splitting” 🙈 . Everything good for you and your partners to coming season and over that 😊

Thanks! That’s really good advice! We just got the boats and started to use them. We look how other make it and they have probably looked how other have made it… No brain… just believe that what you see is correct. I don’t really get how you put the backpack. I have recognise the problem as you describe. The boat can easily flip when you step in and out of it. I have to try to figure out how you have med it. Right now we have around 6 months of winter until next time with packraft boats. Thanks for advise! /Matti

Another really nice video, well done. Such a fantastic valley I was amazed walking all the way down it 2017, There aren't many forests than haven't been managed left in Europe. When I was there I found two sets of tracks, like very big dog tracks. One about as wide as my foot the other a bit smaller the size of a large dog. I didn't see any people in that area at the time, certainly no one with dogs. I think they were wolves but I'm not sure I've never seen wolf tracks before.
@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA3 жыл бұрын

Thanks! Calm weather… That’s a good question. Maybe never when I’m there… 🤣 No, seriously, I think it’s good weather more than most people expect. For a Norwegian you have some strange rules in this national park, you can't use a canoe or packcraft, go fishing or bring a dog in there if I have understood this right? Can't you make camp fires in the park either? Is this common in other of the Swedish national parks and nature reserves?
@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA3 жыл бұрын
Yes... there is big difference between Sweden and Norway. We have more strict rules inside NP than you BUT outside we can drive snowmobil and maybe it's more free hunting regulations in Sweden. It's also easy to get access the nature with helicopter in Sweden (outside NP). I think the best should be something in the middle maybe... If we were aloed to go fishing in Sarek people would fly to the boarder and than stay there for a week fishing... If it's only hikers who catch what they eat it's totally different in my opinion. There is some difference between different nationalparks and different natur reservs. /Matti
@megalep70253 жыл бұрын
@@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA Yes, it's a little bit too free in some parks in Norway, or people don't care really and for instance make big camp fires in forest where it's illegal to remove trees like in Femundsmarka. Have to admit I've also done that some times. It's "ok" when only a few people do it but the last maybe 15 years or so after Lars Monsen made outdoorslife extremely popular a whole lot more people are outdoors frewuently, the wear in some areas is big and can really look terrible. Sadly there are too many people who don't either care or don't know how to behave and leave few traces and no garbage. persons like Monsen but also the internet has made nature more accessible with information about everything everwhere... before that it was easier to find your own places where few other went. The result is more wear on terrain, more garbage and less silence. And the lapps(hope thats the correct name) have their own rules in some np's in Norway. Are they allowed to have their reindeers in Sarek and drive snowmobile there? I am very happy one can't use snowmobile everywhere in Norway or go in by helicopter, it ruins the wilderness experience for me. Me and my girlfriend had our holidays in late August in Børgefjell and Rago, which is close to some Swedish np's. Rago is one of the finest places I've been. I make campfires and fish, I wouldn't be in the mountains if I could not, it's a basic part of wilderness life for me. But if we go to Sarek maybe next year I will respect the rules.

The national park is set up to protect the nature and the animals. It's not set up to be a play-yard for outdoor people. Higher up in the valley there's a huge delta land. Today its a refugee for wild animals and birds because people can't go there during the summer. I THINK that's the reason... /Matti
