Wonderful west sumatra,, after corona ended come to west sumatra again. Many beautuful places in west sumatra, like gandoriah beach and angso duo island in pariaman city, kawasan mandeh in pesisir selatan, maninjau lake n puncak lawang in agam,waterfall in malalak agam, harau veley and kelok 9 brige in payakumbuh, atas and bawah lake in solok selatan, history place (unesco heritage) in sawahlunto,surfing in mentawai island and many more..

I can eat with my hands. I did that all the time, while traveling around Bangladesh :) It was interesting and I am fine doing it; but I prefer cutleries, probably because that's how I grew up. I really can't find anything in Western Sumatra I could complain about, except the weather that time not being the best during October. I think it was just perfect all in all! And yup, the Islands are marvellous; but wouldn't you say it's more like Jurassic Park? That's what my Malay friend who traveled with me found.

Actually you can get a one day tour(including lunch, snorkling gear, etc) to 2 of the islands for only 250-300K Rupiah and start from Bungus Beach wich is closer to Padang city. But of course there is a minimum 6-8pax to get that price. If anyone interesting to come visit, I can get you around.

Because I surely will come back to Padang! :D The 400k were only for me and my friend, so splitting it up to 200k was quite affordable. I think the deal was quite fine. I didn't even want to bargain, as it was much cheaper than in the first place I went and then didn't take the tour.

Hi. They are both different and great. I think Borneo still has an intact ancient rainforest, which is really stunning. Also in terms of wildlife Borneo is outstanding. On the other side, Sumatra offers more on the site of traditional architecture and food.

We then traveled overland to Miri and finally arriving in kota kinabalu. Our last trip we actually went to the Tip of Borneo . Love Borneo.

West Sumatra is very cultural, a big surprise to everyone who goes there. It was one of my VERY best trips I ever had. North Sumatra is more about Rain forest and Lake Toba. Also in North Sumatra there are the Batak which are Christians and they retained much of their ancient culture. North Sumatra is very diverse.

You said boat trip to pamutusan island cost Rp. 400k and it was really cheap, sounds too expensive for me or local people. I live in Padang and I visited that island twice, it cost only Rp. 60k. 😂

Hi. Sungai Talang was a lot more expensive. In Sungai Pisang I only had to pay 400'000 IDR for the boat (not per pax) for the whole day. We were 3 people on the boat. I guess that is cheap :) But yup, I surely could have tried to negotiate but when I remembered how much they asked for in Sungai Talang I just went ahead with that price :)
