Hehe so cute, the way Indonesian eat nasi padang mostly mix the nasi with "lalap" (Boiled casava leaves), jackfruit curry, sambal (green and red, sometimes we find anchovy in it) and side dishes (choose what you like)... Very delicious and flavored, we also like to eat cowhide crackers with rendang sauce or any leftover gravy, thanks for visited Indonesia Luke 🙏

Sabrina, I know this is Luke's channel, and that you both take part, but you also have such a strong, welcoming, and informed presence with your food & travel reviews! I wish you could have your own channel, too, or maybe even a Sabrina Segment. I thought of this randomly when you both were eating okonomiyaki (during your Japan travels) and said the one you had was good, but you'd had better elsewhere. And I thought, "Hmmm, what if there was a Sabrina Segment, where she traveled within the vicinity she's in and specifically reviews one particular thing, in search of the "best" one--like okonomiyaki." Just an idea! You both are great, and we hope to see more of you, too!

water to wash your hand it's literally not for really "wash" your hand, if your finger is really dirty you must wash it on the sink, that a little mount of water in the bowl just for make sure your finger tips is real clean, and they make your hand wet so not sticky to the rice which is so glue

Really good video, nice to see how delightful you are when reviewing those foods.. And btw if you go to other places in Indonesia, and i mean different provinces, you'll then meet different culinary foods in each region and even if they have same dish (Let's say soto and satay), they still taste different and give new experience since each region use different spices and recipes. Even i, an Indonesian, still getting surprised a lot by their foods everytime i visit different regions and cities in my country, tell you how rich the variety of foods in Indonesia is..

There’s a ton of stories about nasi padang. But one in particular was that a lot of foreigners think that they have to eat what is served in the table. My teacher used to have a boss from India, he (the boss) almost ate the whole table. My teacher told him to eat the one he wants to pay. His boss then said if I can finish the whole table, I’ll pay the whole thing and I’ll treat the whole table. Lmao 😂

Rendang is like this. If some people cook "rendang" but there is still some soup there, it's not rendang. I watched some videos about rendang but they made it wrong. Their rendang still wet. Minang people have their own name of that dish. That "half-cooked rendang". I don't know the name of that dish. Rendang should be like in this video.

Oh wow, in this day and age of the Covid Virus, not sure I will be eating at such a place where "uneaten" food will be returned to the cook house and reintroduced to the next customer. Even if the customer didn't physically eat it, but it did spend at least 30 mins sitting at that customer table, he/she could have coughed or sneezed at the plate of food!
