In all automatics we can, but its the oem who decides to provide this facility or not. Sometimes Torque Converters get this paddle shifters and dcts don't get

Actually speaking, you dont need to use paddle shifts in sports mode. As Asir bro says, it may be useful in hills. I haven't used sports mode with paddle shifts, even in the hills.
