HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

How is everyone today at the end of another hectic week?. Super simple today where I make a nice mirrored bar from some padlocks and keys. The reason I don’t stamp all bars is I’m waiting on a new stamp but for it to be made and delivered it could be a couple of months so I’ll go back and stamp them all once it arrives👌🏻. I had just woke up, and I seen I had a BigstackD video notification so first coffee had to be made. Another great video of molten metal served with a cup of coffee and a thunderstorm in the distance ( due here in about hours) . As always my weekend wouldnt begin without one of your melts. Puts me at ease. Dont have anything fancy like your set up, just a fire pit, pot, tongs, bucket, respirator, safety goggles, and about 30 lbs of lead weight from my summer river treasure hunts. Bout ready to smelt it all down for scuba weight for my brother. Wish more fisherman used bismuth, its almost as dense as lead but way less toxic. Really need to make that the standard by now right? Wonder if that large padlock steel would be good to forge into a small blade. It looked perfect red to bash with a hammer on a little anvil. Might draw out to make a reasonable filleting blade
