Vader did indeed commit many atrocities and didn't take great pleasure, unlike Palpatine. He was a victim of Palpatine and his deceit. He was evil and broken. But his evil pales in comparison to that of his master. Vader at the core, was a sad and broken man. Palpatine was evil incarnate. The agony he put Vader through just to serve his own goals. Palpatine killed his family and felt no remorse. Vader at least had good intentions when he turned to the dark side. Palpatine just wanted nothing more than absolute dominion over those he considered weak.It doesn't excuse his cruelty or evil deeds. But, compared to Palpatine. It's unimaginable.

Yep that's the differences between Palpatine and Anakin. Palpatine had no remorse over what he did, even after killing his entire family. But Anakin always felt conflicted after the atrocities he did... Massacring the entire Tusken Raider camp, executing Count Dooku, killing the Jedi younglings, eliminating the Separatists, and seemingly killing his own wife and their child. He felt it was too late for him to turn back to the light. Vader's self-hate would continue on til after the rematch against Luke, when he made the choice to reclaim his humanity and throw his Master to his demise down the reactor shaft, at the cost of his own life.

This is why the recent portrayals of Vader fail, most recent appearances of Vader (like the Obi Wan Kenobi show) Vader is just portrayed as a pure evil being who has no problems killing people for no reason. When One of the things that makes Vader interesting is that he does evil things not because he likes to be evil, like Palpatine, but because he feels like he has to.

Yeah, one of the things I always liked about Vader, is when he tried to sway Luke to join him, his motivation was to end the chaos and stabilise the galaxy. I fully believe Vader wanted to defeat Palpatine, take the throne and rule the galaxy with his son as a benevolent tyrant. (As in, he will enforce peace through exteme violence if you cause trouble)

I always hoped that in one way Anakin was able to see Padme agian not just for Anakin but also for Padme. Padme is a tragic character. She watched the republic she worked so hard to protect crumble beneath her, The people of her own planet and other citizens of the galaxy would suffer the most with little she can do to help them and it all got toppled over in the end when she sees what her the love of her life ultimately becomes.

I think we should also look into the possibility Padme died of lose of midichlorian count. Luke and Leah jacked up her midichlorian count to 30-40k+. After birth, her body went into shock. That could've killed her. It's a good idea for a video to look into.

No, Anakin was reaching out to Padme with the Force the whole time. When Anakin heard the news he said that he could Feel her. When Anakin stop breathing on the table, Padme was drag to death with him. Then the respirator kicked on.

Obi wan knew Padme and anakin so well he played them like a fiddle. Gaslighted padme to going to anakins location, then gaslighted anakin to try to take the high ground. Truly a Jedi master definitely something qui gon would’ve done imo. It Speaks to his character a lot that he didn’t mind trick padme or use the force at all to sway her to his side, he tried to save them but allowed them to have a choice.

im afraid you may not mean what gaslighting is (im not saying this to be an asshole just clarifying so you know for the future). gaslighting is a manipulative move people do to make them question their own belief. this doesnt fit what he did to either of them in honestly any way. anakin believed he could still beat obi wan, obi wan genuinely asked him not to do it, and anakin did it anyways. however you are right that he knew padme would lie and then could sneak in with her to find anakin that way.

That’s manipulation literally said what he had to to prompt the end of the duel since anakin could no longer be reasoned with. He tells padme exactly what she needed to hear to take him directly to anakin to get her own “answers”. He gas lit them both. Manipulating anyone into an emotional state to guarantee an outcome is manipulation which is all gaslighting really is. Manipulation is quite literally obi-wans strongest attribute outside of being a true Jedi.

That part in the scene where he says 3 words. “Im so sorry” showed exactly who obi wan is. He is flawed no question. And he was not the right person to train anakin. But I think if he was able to grow up himself before having anakin put on him I think things would be different. As obi wan grows you see him put more and more trust into anakin and believe in him even more. But unfortunately he didn’t do it soon enough.

I find it interesting that this could also explain why Padme "lost the will to live". If she had a Force Bond with Anakin, wouldn't it being *recalled* (only word I can think of for this) do great harm to her body and spirit? To me it sounds like when Anakin thought she had betrayed him and cut off that Force Bond between them he drained her of her life essence. That could explain why he didn't realize he killed her but was still told that he had.

Not really, Anakin and Padme are amazing together. They both have a strong sense of justice, both are hard working, dutiful, and devoted to each other as well as what they’re passionate about and are able to love one another for exactly who they were. They overall share a lot in common but it’s only their circumstances that made things hard for them. Think about it this way, if they both ran away together and raised their kids, they would’ve lived happily together forever.

Proof of this was when Padme looked out the window of her apartment, and she sensed Anakin's presence within the Jedi Council Tower. I understood this the first time I watched ROTS with my friends.

The 1990's novels, Leia is so bonded with Luke and Han she can feel their pain, shock, or giggle from lightyears away. In this view, Padme was mental/emotional going through Anakin table torture. It was filmed they both stop breathing at the same time, then Vader's respirator kick on. Where Vader said that he could Feel her.

The way the book describes it, they had a strong bond through the Force. Technically, the Force flows through every one, so I guess Padme could feel their connection. Maybe because Anakin was the Chosen One

When Padme was pregnant with Luke and Leia, she could feel Anakin's presence through her twins' strong Force connection as she looked out of the window at her apartment, while Anakin was looking out from the Jedi Council Tower. This was of course before Anakin made the choice to disobey Mace Windu's direct orders and save Palpatine.
