literally found his videos Friday night, went out Saturday with his pelvis video and shot my lowest front 9(37-3 bogeys, 2 birdies and the rest pars) and lowest score ever with an 82.(I have a bad right hip and becomes extremely stiff so shot a 9 over on the back 9). Now I am binging all his videos and implementing every aspect of his videos into my game and hopefully break 80 soon

Not only is it great that you take time to do this for us mere mortals Padraig, but you're also so good as a teacher, tone of voice etcetera, makes you want to pay attention. I also have the feeling that the videos are not overly edited, so you're apparently really good at telling a coherent story in one take, that is also a real talent

Absolutely, the best golf teaching information on the internet!! Please continue the lessons indefinitely.

Great advice. I have said for years that golf instructors try to teach a professional swing that almost no one can reproduce. 95% of the people who play golf would be happy to just hit the ball in the right direction. and that's why this video is perfect. Thank you. You should start a series of videos called Golf for Everybody Else. kg
@timchamberlain58582 жыл бұрын
Paddy always has some amazing tidbits embedded in these videos like toning down your swing to 70% to work on technique instead of trying to swing at 100% all the time. So simple but people new to golf would never think of it.

Padraig, if what you said here about the hands and wrists controlling the body and not the other way around is true, as I think it might be, it should be recognized as being as important as Ben Hogan's discovery of the swing plane. We all want golf to be fun, and nothing contributes more to that than the feeling of mastery we all feel by striking the ball well. With the technology available today we can practice ball striking with the shorter irons first, experimenting with club path and face-to-target angles, attack angles, and apex heights. Moving the ball all around at will to build skill and confidence in ball striking so that when we play we experience the fun of mastery over ball striking. Work backwards from the hands, and the body will follow. I can't wait to practice this! Thank you, Padraig!!

Padraig, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy life as a touring professional and family man to help educate and teach the fundamentals of the golf swing on this forum. There are way too many PGA teaching professionals and others teaching the game on KZbin who are only in it to make money. They teach you just enough to ensure you return for another lesson so they can keep their bank account growing. For this, I truly appreciate you as a teacher and look forward to applying the drills and techniques you recommend to better my game and most importantly enjoy the great game of golf. Thanks again!!

I don't think anyone else explains the inner workings of the golf swing so well as Padraig does, it's just brilliantly no nonsense and concise. In my opinion there couldn't be anyone better to learn the game from than a tried and tested champion golfer who has probably hit more golf balls than I've taken breaths. I would recommend to anyone seeking to learn about the game to watch his whole series. Cheers Mr Harrington 👍

Looking forward to others. I’ve seen you play in Memphis over the years, as I live in the south. I’m not from Ireland, but we both have the same last name. Paddy, you are the best Thank you so much for taking your time with us I really like your consistent theme of exaggerating opposites with hand feel to get a feel of where the club head is. Shut face a lot. Open it a lot I completely agree with you about so many people overemphasizing body vs hands and arms. I'm sure it's been said here many times, but I'm sure so much of this comes from the announcers on TV always talking about the body and the body rotation. You are the best So earnest, such a clear teacher . No gimmicks, just great instruction from a Hall of famer Thx!!!!

Padraig, I love you man, and I thoroughly enjoy listening to you and your wisdom. So glad you're led to share your knowledge. One thing I'm struggling with here is that I see so many golfers on a weekly basis who are way (WAY!!!) too handsy (and armsy) with their swings and almost have no body awareness. I used to be one of them. Flat turn, early extension, over the top, and the only way to save a lot of my shots was to get my hands into overdrive. Why wouldn't we want quiet hands instead of frantically turning them through the hitting area to stave off a disaster that's being driven by horrible body positions? I wish I'd started playing golf with Mr. Miyagi (kidding...I think) and wasn't allowed to be within 100 yards of a golf club for a month until I learned proper setup position and weight, proper tilt at the hips, proper takeaway angles with the body, and proper body position through impact to finish.

Paddy, I think this is the best video out there for understanding how the golf swing works. Went to the range and just worked on closing the club face at address. Started hitting these wonderful, towering balls that flew for miles. Never have I ever hit balls like that and I was getting compliments on my swing from the guy next to me. I guess I was always addressing the ball with an open club face and stance and no matter what I did with my body I could never correct it. So now my practice is just toying with the club face to see what the outcome is. Absolutely over the moon with the progress I've made in such a short period of time. All because of this video. Thank you so much. ❤
