I saw this video in 2010, and I thought, this is the best sounding car I've ever heard. Modified or not. Since then I've come back to this video dozens of times, and still love the sound. To me this is still the best sounding car. I think it's even better than F1. Just amazing.

Honestly...Pagani has captured what a super car truly is in all aspects. Other companies do a great job with bias to a certain aspect of a "super car" ... acceleration, top speed, looks, sound, tech but Pagani has the lot and I am continuously blown away with their product. I am extremely jealous of the individuals who can enjoy ownership of machines like this but it is truly motivation in my life.

That is the sound on the overrun. In the lower gears, unburnt fuel goes into the hot exhaust and ignites. So its a mini explosion in the exhaust pipes

There's no turbo in this car. The sound is caused by the pressure drop in the exhaust system when the throttle is released during gearchange.

I fell in love with this car thanks to Forza Motorsport 4. It is one of the few cars in existence that has an engine sound that make me literally weak in the knees. I would love to see someone take one of these to a track with some high level sound recording equipment and capture the devastating sound from a few laps in it.

I noticed every zonda does this, even the 760RS. I love the sound and i know any car can have problems no matter what the price tag is, but I think it is backfiring, it doesnt sound like the backfire from the lambos but I;m sure being an AMG V12 even the backfiring will sound different.

@FeelsLikeCancer It has an naturally aspirated engine no turbos. Don't know why it bangs on shifting. I guess it just lets little fuel to the exhaust manifolds when it cuts the fuel injection on shifting.

@jerkininjamaica its not really a manual, in that you only have to pull a lever and its not really an automatic in that it doesnt use a torque converter. Its called an automated manual. You pull the lever and the computer does all the clutch work and the shifting for you. In essense it has all the inner working of a manual but shifts automatically.
