Great video Garry! Iv'e come up with a way to achieve the same thing using air to carry the nutrients right up from the buckets and tie into the existing air line to bubble it up through a 1/4 inch tube that has an open end below the water level, I use a valve to limit how much air I divert from the air stones, It takes very little air to make it work. I get a very good increase in yield as opposed to the same system without the drip system, Most evident early on in the life of the plants, Plants get hugh by the time they are 4 weeks from seed, and Iv'e gone from getting 1/2-3/4 LB a plant to getting in excess of a LB a plant from a 6 week veg cycle! I would suggest that anyone using DWC or RDWC to add some kind of a drip setup to your system! TWO THUMBS UP Garry this is a GREAT System you build.

Hi Gary, Love the vids. I'm using them to build a fallponic system since you don't ship to Canada. Question on the drip system. Since it's mainly to keep the upper roots wet and promote root growth, do you run it all the time or set it up on a timer to kick on a few times a day? - I'll be leaving my system automated for 2 week periods. - Is over saturation of the roots a concern? - thx from Canada.

Hey quick question, iv seen a similar set up by current culture and on their pvc drain on the back two buckets they have a filter/return line to res .. Was wandering if that is even neccessary for draining or does it help? Your system already seems so great!

Great guy. I subscribed. I've watched a ton a videos and bought my 1st fan/ filter combo from you. I like to support my local store, I've found a pretty good one here in K.C. MO. Area, not quite like you! Most know one thing really well, and it's dirt. My question to anyone reading. Why use recirculating water if you use a drip. ? I've grown one way, 4 bucket, drip. When I started it wasn't legal, that was 20 years ago. I quit when wife had kid. Now that it's legal, kid is of age, I started in my finished basement bathroom lol. Tarped ceiling to help keep humidity in. Very well controlled climate wise. MY question, I just do top drip, did it that way 20 years ago. I never used air stones either. 20 years ago. I thought about making it recirculating without top drip after seeing it was a thing, but I like dripping on the top roots. I did put in an air stone. (It didn't do anything really). So why use another pump for recirculating , when top dippers recirculating to? I know you probably can't re circulate too much... lol. But I don't think it's needed if you doing top drip. (Unless you worry about clogging).

Will this style drip ring work for germinating and growing all through the seedling stage? I can imagine in leca that a standard 1.5 inch rockwool cube might not actually get watered. Capillary action in leca is not as good as soil, coco coir, or even perlite. And if this does work, do you run them on a timer or leave them on full blast 24/7?

Hi , Thanks for your instructional videos, I have a question, I’m installing a new RDWC system,in my last system I used 5 gal buckets with uniseals, with 1 1/4 inch pvc pipe, this new system has rectangular buckets only this time I’m using bulkhead fittings with 2 inch PVC pipe, how do I connect the pvc pipe to the slip X slip bulkheads? Do I use pvc glue or just use silicone sealant on the pipe as I insert the pipe into the bulkheads. Thanks, anyone with an answer it would be appreciated ! Thanks , Steve
@PAHydroponics3 жыл бұрын
Looks like they have the pvc going inside them like the ones we use, most likely ABS plastic so use the same glue that we used. Good luck it should work!~ G

Ahh the waterfarm is what you are talking about, I ran one and I love the idea of the water coming up the ring with air but then when it clogged it was a mess and hard to get going while the plant was in it. Take care, Gary
