Great video man! I have a question, When the plant roots start to completely fill the bucket, how do you put much, if any, water in the bucket with the roots?
@PAHydroponics
@PAHydroponics 5 жыл бұрын
Hello, good question and yes there will be only enough room for a few gallons if your growing a big tomato plant, and that plant can drink a gallon a day! So you will have to keep an eye on it, the roots wont take up the whole bucket even tho it may look that way, also water level can drop and the bubbling will keep everything moist. We are going to do a video on a " Texas controller" build that will keep things topped off but it requires a second reservoir. I have a big tomato going right now and I have to tend to it every 2 days to keep it topped off. Hope this helps! Gary

Hi Gary! I have a doubt about feeding, im running a dwc 1 20lt bucket currently on the 3rd week of flowering. My doubt comes with the ec, i change the water every 2 weeks, but now that its on flowering consumes a lot of water, and when i re fill it my ec drops like crazy. Its safe to the plant mantain the ec while refilling with water? or shoul i refill with water only until my ec comes down from 1.4 to something? I cant find answers to this honestly online. Thanks in advance :)

Hello, plants usually use more water than nutes and the general rule when topping off the reservoir is to ad back a 25% mix of what you usually feed them, give that a try and your PPM might steady out. Hope this helps. Gary

How do you control water temperature?
@PAHydroponics
@PAHydroponics 5 жыл бұрын
Hey, in winter I recommend putting the bucket off the floor on some foam if your on a cold floor, or you can use a small reservoir heater, In the summer try to control your room air temps. A chiller on a single bucket would be very expensive. Some people freeze water bottles and put one in the rez a few times a day, I tried that and the ice melts quick so yeah, that's 1 of the down falls of hydro. Gary

Hey , sorry about this but all our new videos will have a new clip on microphone ! I honestly never thought this many people would be watching these videos and we will do better! Have a good week and thanks for watching, we will be getting into some more complicated systems and lot's of cool stuff, this year is 10years of running this store. Stick with us :) Gary
