While it is that berzerk is mainly referenced, tarkus however seems to have much in common with knight tarkus in Jojo, similarity in the area they are found, both wielding hefty sword that are unwieldy to the normal individual, and Black Iron Tarkus dies is also similar to how Tarkus from the manga falls off a cliff and into a barrack. While it not explicit, its safe enough to say that if you were to believe that tarkus is referenced from jojo, you'd have a lot to back your statement from.

For anyone who wants a tip to get past these guys: 2 poison arrows. That's all it takes to kill one. They succumb to a single poisoning. The arrow doesn't even have to do damage.

Fun fact, you cant hit them with arrows, but you can poison them via poison arrows. It takes a while, but its an easy solution. The moss lady in the aqueduct sells them, you have to aim for the foot. There wont be damage numbers, but after a few you'll see them get poisoned. ENB showed this off
