I’ve done the message roller and I can hear the knots crunching, it hurts but feels great at the same time

As a LMT and personal trainer, this advice couldn't be further from the truth. I have NEVER met anyone with tight rhomboids. Muscle "knots" are not even a real thing. It is impossible for a muscle to knot up. There can be adhesions or trigger points in the muscles but not "knots". Most people that have this problem suffer from rounded shoulder posture, metabolic conditions, or stress. In any case, stretching the rhomboids will exacerbate the issue. The rhomboids need to be strengthened not stretched.

That's cute because you sound so SURE of what knots are. Nobody actually knows what is the reason why knots exist but we have all felt these very small lumps or tense areas when massaging others. The best guess we have are that they are localized contractions within a muscle belly that simply don't relax. Try the stretch next time you feel massive tension there and nothing helps and you'll actually be surprised how effective it is. I do agree the rhomboids need to be strengthened, but for some of us, our rhomboids are strong as hell and our posture is excellent, and this stretch is fantastic.

I don't believe in foam rolling much, but rolling my upper back always makes it crack and it did get rid of my pain over time. Works best if I fully extend my arms overhead while doing it. Definitely worth a try

Wow that really helped. Thank you. Should we do them all in order?
@AntranikDotOrg Жыл бұрын
I do it in exactly that order usually! But you could also do them all independent of each other, too.
