You can both say that CTE is a major risk in boxers and also carry on boxing, there's absolutely no shame in it. When people do big crimes, they often admit to things of a lower omission in order to deter people from the initial accusation. Ryan admitting to weed & alcohol seems like a clear deterrent from harder drugs use. It would be a breath of fresh air to see Haney refuse to fight this form of Garcia. At least to we see a cleaner build up to the fight. People will give him a lot less props if he beats Garcia so it’s a lose lose for everyone.

What truth did he expose? The definition of exposing is making something visible by uncovering it. And I know you’re probably thinking why, just because he’s speaking on things no one else talks about? No. It’s his erratic behavior, body/facial language during the press conference (twitching/puffy face), and overall the general way in which he’s conducted himself after the Tank loss. If neither of these things are true, then I don’t know. I feel like we can say that about a lot of liars. Jussie Smollett made up a whole story about being assaulted and hired two stunt doubles. To a normal person it sounds extremely stupid. But I’m assuming he just wanted attention. But I don’t know fully why Jussie lied. Sometimes it’s incredible difficult to understand why people lie. Attention, hiding something, wanting to be polite, etc.

He obviously has had a meltdown right after the divorce and the defeat, and ultimately decided to speak up. Something happened to him, he was suffering from depressive periods in the past which can easily steam from childhood trauma. Going into binges etc is also very characteristic of childhood trauma. Not sure if he is telling from the factual “truth”, or just his perception of things. It could be something serious and dark going on, or mental issues. Either way, I tend to believe that something happened to him, and in that case it takes balls to speak up. Best of luck for Ryan.
