I’d recommend just using 2k clear. Also you can probably hire a detailer to do it for $150. Depending on your location. But ceramic is the better over ppf for uv protection.

Remember this is after 26,000 hours outside. 3 years straight. A lot of cars the we PPF also have a garage to store it in and it doesn’t get outside but maybe 100 hours a year

Definitely! This is for sure a worst case scenario, but the warranties these films have doesn't say anything about indoors or out, garaged or not.

The point of these films is to protect the paintwork. I can understand how cosmetically, you would like them to look like new all the time but, realistically speaking, they act as a shield and are supposed to be replaced after 3 years. The question I would have is how does my paint look 3 years later when I peel off the PPF?

I guess this stuff has been sitting outside in direct weather for years, but I see all kinds of very high end cars done up with CeramicPro PPF and was planning for my next car - why would people install if it truly fails like you show? Who is right here?

You can still add a coat of wax or ceramic on top, and the knowledge that nobody can key your car easily is quite reassuring. No matter what happened to the PPF you can just peel it off. That said sometimes the install cost is much higher than a really good paint correction, so you might as well use ceramic and get repairs as needed.

This is some of ceramic pros early kavaca film which they have since updated. I have some of the new film which will be tested again. Yes this has been sitting outside 24/7 for 3 years now

I worked with a detailer who was a ceramic pro certified installer and he said he never saw the coatings surviving the 5+ years that some of the packages are quoted at. Doubt their film is anything better than their coatings

I don't get get it why people mention keying, microscratches and rock chips when bug guts are even worse than all of those when left untouched - especially under the bright sun. Obviously it would be a bit difficult getting some poor insects to smear all over the hood or bumper and see how any PPF would handle their acidity over time.
