If you're used to organic media, then one or two layers is actually extremely easy to do. Especially in programs that, to a point, mimic organic media.(Such as Paint Tool Sai and Corel Painter)

Did you use the crayon brush for the lineart? I really like it, it adds personality and texture =D Really cool picture, it looks very.. vauge (in a good way), the way you drew the hair, and everything just kind of blending with the back ground, it really looked like a dream or something. Okay, obviously, I'm not Ru3na, so I don't know if she uses anything different, but the best resolution to use is 300dpi (graphics standard). Anything higher, and you'll find that your system is bogged down and moving really slowly, so you should only use it if something is super extra mondo important and if you go lower, it starts to look grainy. I'm assuming that you're not making anything for the creation of a web page, like a gif, but if you are, then the dpi should be 72. Hope that helps.

When you open SAI I usually go for where it says 'presets' and choose 'A4 - 350dpi (JIS) and it creates a rather large canvas. I just zoom in 50%, draw what i need to in that space, and crop to the drawing.

@Kaqome I know you're asking Ru3na, but from my experience it doesn't really matter too much on a normal painting, however once during my final exam for Art i had it up at 96% cos of the amount of detail in my work and the number of layers I had (i regret to say it was over 200) and it rendered me unable to save the image in SAI form, I had to save it in PSD. So unless it goes up to the 95+% range and you have over a hundred layers I think you should be safe(:
