A horse! Nice, Dave. I drew horses all the time when I was little. I mean in kindergarten. I was born with a crayon in hand. I used to draw on my parent's walls. I think my mother wanted to wring my neck at times! Just give me some paper and my crayons and I was happy for hours! Learning so much from you. You know I take notes. I'm getting back into my art again (but not painting on walls--yet), and I am so happy to have found you. Some day my husband will have to take me through to Sidney and I'll have to see your gallery.

Fantastic! I love all your work but your animal paintings are superb! I love horses as well. I own two Friesian horses. Big, bulky, black and beautiful! If I had the money I would commission a painting of them. My horses act more like dogs than how typically horses act. Friesians are very friendly, curios about everything and love to play...like my male, Zeus, loves to honk the horn in our truck. You can never leave a window down around him😕😄. I'm off to watch the 2nd part😊🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴

Those are the ones with the beautiful long black manes right? Love them when they run.
@teraperry10083 жыл бұрын
@@JansenArtEducation yes,they have long beautiful manes, tails and fetlocks...but you have to spend a lot of time on them to keep them long. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to to ride in a long time (because of my health...Thank the Lord I have painting) but, like I said before they are very much like having very large dogs. Personality plus! The only downside of having Friesians is we can not trim or take care of their hooves...they are to big to have them leaning on you😮😕😊.

David, l found your site on some time ago. Art piece of this horse brought to mind what I've been doing for years. I am nearly an eight decade old artist. I worked in the art field for many years. I won ribbons and all those nice things. I've never heard any of the other painters on KZbin talk talk about Harmony. Some of the artist really know about Harmony. I can see it in there work. Learned when I was a child that bringing colors through the whole piece brings the painting all together. . . Harmony!!! I'm happy you mentioned Harmony, this is an important part of painting.

David, I was in the outdoor advertising, billboards, for years. I painted with the primary color plus white in my work . We had buckets of enamel paint . I still use primary colors in my painting. It saves on tubes of paint. Some of my long time artist friends never used this technique of mixing primary colors. . The old masters didn't have these different colors of tubs of paint. They pretty much made their primary colors. I guess I taught myself to be an Old Master's artist .
