Having painted some hummingbirds recently myself... I can say this is exceptional work especially considering how fast you painted this and with the distractions. Great job! Looks like a fun experience at the gallery too. Thanks for sharing.

See, you get it Randy, but I thrive in a social environment so painting while talking is natural for me. Thanks for the compliment, especially coming from a fellow 'bird painter"...it means a lot. If you haven't been to Waynesville, NC...you gotta check it out, it's like a "mini Asheville", but just a tad nicer.

@@SuzanneBarrettJustisArtist I know, right!? Only painting groups around here involve wine and preprinted canvases, but still fun, lol! Cartersville is about 7 1/2 hours from me, Kingsport is 4 1/2 hours. You’re close enough for me to say you’re not far, yet too far for me to say you’re close, if that makes any sense, lol! You are exactly in the middle of my home in NC and my son in Huntsville, Alabama…which is why I make that trip so often. Have you ever been to Huntsville? Such a pleasant surprise! It reminds me of a mix between San Francisco and Boston, with NASA in the middle 😁 A live Patreon would be great, keep us posted!

Oh Astrid, you would love this area of NC. There is inspiration all around. The good folks at this art gallery are amazing and work so hard. I am a very social person, so chatting with folks while I paint is easy and very natural for me. One of my Patreon folks , Amanda from France (that is how she refers to herself) really wanted to see a hummingbird video, so that was where the idea for this piece came. Thanks for the hug for Singer...he always has something to say. If you were here, Singer would give you a big kiss...right in your ear!! Thanks as always, Astrid, you are amazing. Happy Painting!!

I’ve been looking up different tutorials on humming birds so I can paint one for my great uncle (his favorite bird) for Christmas. Yours is the first one I watched. Great tips. Do you have a painting packet on how to paint humming birds? Thank you!
