i enjoy your videos, nice music slow pace. a tiny bit slower would help even more but thanks for making them. if you can make wood texturing next time would be great.

Amazing workflow, but why didn't you back the normal map from the high? The mesh is too small for a game I guess ? Anyway great work ! Thanks for sharing it ! Need more :D

Hi Francois, there wasn't a high. That was the high... modelled just like that. My next video does just that, from a sculpt, so look out for that. Thanks for watching.

Guys, always bake from a high poly...don't be lazy.
@wakeupshivi6 жыл бұрын
could you tell what is baking textures all about? i understand converting it from high poly to low poly but i have no idea what it is practically all about because we can also texture high poly models with the same method and it makes no difference to me..may be a good example would do help me
@KevsArtStuff6 жыл бұрын
Hi Shivi. When working in games, very high poly counts are not ideal for rendering engines currently, and we look for ways to maintain the speed it renders while getting the best visual we can. Baking normal maps, for example, from a high res model, and then applying that normal map to the low res model gives us a high rendered look, but using lower polygons in the game engine. I hope that helps.

in textureset list not show multiple objects in my substance painter software ?
@KevsArtStuff6 жыл бұрын
It won't show you multiple objects, it will only show you multiple (unique) materials that are assigned to your objects (called texture sets). So if you only have 1 material assign to All of your objects, Substance will think it's 1 object and you will only get 1 texture set. You have to set them up in your 3D application before pulling them into substance and give each material a unique name. Hope that helps.

Increase the resolution. You can do that at anytime in Substance Painter.

I did have a quick look and it's fine for me. If you can send me your SP project file (or a portion of it), I can take a look at that for you?
@naomilafaekurz15606 жыл бұрын
Apparently its something I am doing in the program. When I did a sample test with a piece of glass it worked fine. I will have to double check what I am doing for the other file. Waiting on the upload to dropbox it going to take me an hour or so for upload but will post link here as soon as I get it uploaded.

@KevsArtStuff6 жыл бұрын
Hmm... I'll check it out, but you probably need to set up your material and shader correctly.

are you going to try it yourself and let me know ?
