𝗬𝗘𝗦, 𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗡 𝗞𝗜𝗧 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗗. It's versatile, looks great and it's loaded with options: The Anvil Industry Light Mech released in January! A collection of STL files for home 3D printing where you can customize the kit before printing, with a resin version coming soon. READ MORE:
FAQ:
"Is this available in resin?" Not yet, but eventually. Anvil Industry have plans to release most, if not all, of the Digital Forge in resin kits. The mech has been specifically mentioned as one that will be coming.
"Do I have to use Blender?" Yes, but it's relatively painless. I was surprised by how simple the process actually is once I'd skimmed the guide, made a couple of mistakes, then read the guide again more carefully. You don't need to know how to use Blender to 'use Blender' for this.
"What printer/settings/resin did you use?" This is printed at 50 microns (0.05mm) on a first generation Elegoo Mars using Elegoo's water washable resin.
Whether you're playing Konflikt '47, Gamma Wolves, Lancer, Warhammer 40,000 or anything else which features walking suits of armour, I'm certain a cunning hobbyist can find a use for this awesome kit. I've been subscribed to the Anvil Digital Forge from the very first release and each has continued to amaze me with the quality on offer; they're my go-to for amazing STL files that I know will work once they hit the printer!
/ januarys-light-46542504 The showcase post for the Light Mech is here, along with a bunch of pictures of other possible options using the STL kit. Even if you haven't got a 3D printer yet, going in just to pick up the STL files ahead of time - and at a ludicrously low price - seems like a cunning idea to me! The lovely team at Anvil Industry have also written written a guide for how to use Blender to tweak and customize the kit, which even I was able to figure out. You'll need to download and install Blender to get the most of it, of course, but it's free software and incredibly powerful for this use!
