Just a quick easy tip for battletop. If u use blacksilver mix, use that like dry brush over black base, it's really quick and add just that little volumetric highlights that help alot. See u dude I love your contents!

That is a great way to paint the armour. I just got 10 of these warriors from eBay to try out some of the tutorials I have seen. I think this one is a must!! I was wondering if the same method of this armour would work for Iron Hands? I know they are meant to be more industrial oil, but it feels like it might work with a shipping effect later? Top video!
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think this would work pretty well for Iron Hands. Especially the contrast with the brighter steel and white details they've got going!
@TrentRosenbaum3 жыл бұрын
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Seems like a silly question, but are you going to be painting the other Stormhosts?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
@@TrentRosenbaum There's a couple of other Stormhosts on the channel already - the techniques will still work perfectly well on the Vindictors, with the added bonus of not having to paint any robes for the most part! 😂

I was thumbing through a paint guide and felt the same when I saw this paint scheme and it gets away from the goody-two-shoes shiny metallic versions. One of these days I'll paint the other half of the Soul Wars box.
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
I have to admit, if I had to pick a single Stormhost that stands out as a favourite, it'd probably be Hallowed Knights - they're pretty shiny! But the Anvils have a real worn, grimy appeal that makes them a close second in that battle.

@TheAkeris2 жыл бұрын
Looks really good! What did you use for varnishing? The black(metal) looks really smooth! Looks a lot different in the end than in the shots in between - and isnt varnishing the metal counter-productive because its taking away the shine from the metal parts?
@Woff1dGM3 жыл бұрын
love the black armor ! do you think applying iron warriors and then 2 coats of nuln oil would give a similar result ? im not really confident at all when it comes to mixing paints sadly

Very cool scheme :) Are you planning on maybe doing Yndrasta? *wink wink*. Or maybe you have some advice on how to do her wings like raven wings instead of white? *winky winky winky*
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
To be fair, if I'm gonna do Yndrasta she'll be similar to the 'official' look. But raven wings? Corvus Black, a quick drybrush all over of Dawnstone, Drakenhof Nightshade and then a second, much lighter drybrush of Longbeard Grey along edges and upper sides of the wings, I'd think.

Oh man, now I’m conflicted. I’d decided to do a turquoise wash over silver style armor with maroon cloth areas, but the scheme you used looks amazing. I love the gold/black contrast.
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
It's super stark, but works great in person. That little hint of light that reflects from the metallic in the armour stops it from being quite so flat, and somehow makes the gold even brighter by comparison. It's not a fast way to paint an army, but I really like the result.
