Great job as usual Doc. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I would pay a shrubbery to see you build a diorama of the scene where Arthur and his Knights while "riding", find their path blocked by the imposing figure of a Knight who says Ni. Lol

In the movie he still has the blood on the sword from the knight he kills while Arthur is watching. And I didn't want to bloody Arthur.

How do we decide when to use (Shade, Base, Highlights (i.e., Layering) versus (Basecoat, Wash, Highlight) ?

Depends on what you want and what's being painting. Something flat is usually better suited for layering. Something with lots of tiny recessed detail (fur) may be better suited with a wash.
