If you own a 3D printer, chances are good you've got your eye on miniatures you can print at home. The idea that a printer will 'pay for itself' isn't wholly accurate, I think, but once you've knocked a couple of armies out in resin for a couple of cents a figure, you'll find in the long term they beat out box after box of plastic infantry. Assuming you can find STLs that you like, that is, which is where Anvil Industry have stepped in.

Hey Sonic! Not a specific model tutorial request but could you make a video for painting fire? Is object source lighting a must or can it be ignored? I'm trying to paint flaming swords for ASOIAF but its not going well... You have great ideas and quick and easy executed tips any help would be great Cheers

The Elegoo Mars. They're a little cheaper than the Anycubic Photon, but both have recently come down massively in price.

One day! Kabalite Warriors are one of those things that're a little difficult to get in small quantities and I don't have much use for a whole box, but they're very definitely on the list.

This chap came off an Elegoo Mars, which is a resin printer. You'd not get results quite so smooth from a filament machine, unfortunately.

Yes they do! :D All their stuff at the moment is pre-supported, which I can only assume will carry over when they start selling the STL packs through their storefront.

Cost wise how do a squad of 10 of these blokes work out against a standard squad of GW guard models? Can clearly sub these guys in for Steel Legion and nobody would know the difference!

Individually it's a little hard to price them. Each of them is only a couple of cents worth of resin at a time, but then you've got the cost of the machine to factor in as well. Eventually they work out way, WAY cheaper than plastic or metal miniatures of a similar make - I'm well past the point where the machine doesn't really factor into costs any more - but as an initial outlay there's those extra costs to consider.

Yeah, they upload supported as well as unsupported versions.

How do you find these scale with the actual IG models? I printed out a heavy gunner and they seem small. I’ve never seen an IG model in person though ;)

I've found that they scale pretty much perfectly. The resin parts that Anvil sell fit on my plastic Guard bits perfectly well; their STLs ought to be scaled to the same size.
