Recently got into the tabletop and I got to say, your channel is a breath of fresh air in the painting space. It really gets frustrating when I see how to paint videos with 10+ paints for a single model. Thank you for these videos man, they really help a newbie get motivated to paint an army. Keep up the good work. The Emperor Protects !!

Thanks, man! That's exactly what I'm trying to show people. You don't need a large collection of paints and with some simple techniques you can get a decent result.

Love those battle damage marks and the dusting.
@FogOfGore Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Super easy and quick to do once you get a little confident with drybrushing.

Yeah, me too. You get a more gritty and slightly grimdark feel like this.

great vid, I used a similar technique to paint my Charnel Guard!

Amazing!! Im about to start painting again after a 10+ year break.. Will definitely be using this to help me start painting my blood angels 🩸

Go for it! I came back after a similar long break and it's still an amazing hobby.

I am going to be using this technique on my chaos space marines, my World Eaters (Not the Horus Heracy era)
@FogOfGore3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's perfect for them too. Just highlight the red with the base colour Khorne Red and don't darken the black too much and you'll have a World Eater

Could you use this scheme on a Blood Angels dreadnought? And would it look good with an oil wash?
@FogOfGore Жыл бұрын
Yeah, absolutely. I would add some more details to the dreadnought and use the decals that come with it though. Otherwise there is goong to be quite a lot of empty space. You can add those later though and see how it goes first.

I always had a tough time understanding the ranks of blood angels. This was a great video by the way. No streaking grime though? 😮
@FogOfGore3 ай бұрын
Not this time 😀 occasionally I like to keep it as simple as possible. As few paints, brushes and techniques as I can with still a decent result. Perfect for beginners who are painting their first minis and if you don't want to spend another 100 euro on paints after you just bought a 50 Euro box of minis.
@jacksonpierce943 Жыл бұрын
how did you apply the armagetton dust to look like that
@FogOfGore Жыл бұрын
On the base? It's armageddon dust washed with some agrax earthshade. On the mini I just drybrush on some Zandri Dust to make it look dusty.
@marbelastra1675 Жыл бұрын
Awesome video!! Definitely going to help!! Was just wondering if you primed the mini, and if so, what primer did you use? :D
@FogOfGore Жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's just primed black with Citadel Chaos Black Primer

Great video! Thank you. I have a couple questions: at what point should I add the transfers? And what colors would you use for the yellow, blue, and gold helmets? Thanks!
@FogOfGore3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Transfers are tough with this style, because if you don't paint over them they will look like the stickers that they are. If you can work neatly, I would apply them right after doing the highlight and then paint over them a bit to make them better fit with the other colours on the model. Go over the blacks with some Eshin Grey or Eshin Grey mixed with Abaddon Black for example to get them the same colour as the trim. For yellow I would use Averland Sunset, washed with Agrax Earthshade and drybrushed with Averland Sunset again. Runelord Brass washed with Nuln Oil for the gold. Thunderhawk Blue washed with Nuln Oil and drybrushed with Teclis Blue for the blue.

Do yo dry the dry brush or keep it wet for basing drybrush?
@FogOfGore3 жыл бұрын
The brush is dry (I don't use water) but there is a lot of paint on it so that the first layer is done quickly.
@renzelldelacruz54123 жыл бұрын
Do you water down the paint?
@FogOfGore3 жыл бұрын
@@renzelldelacruz5412 no, not with the drybrushing. That is just straight from the pot. For the detail work I use a little bit of water.
