This was a fun one to watch! Too bad there wont be a new launch box anytime soon haha. Im really surprised at how fast those Skaven got done, I thought it was going to be Nids all over again lol. I think you guys should continue the skaventide box with a 12 hr challenge fully completing the models with basing, the finishing touches on details and highlights, rimmed bases and maybe even choosing an additional kit for each other to fully complete during the challenge

Good stuff guys! This might be my favorite of your challenge videos. Not just because I'm bisased for my love AoS, but also for the highs and lows of the challenge. Thinking you won't make it through the 40 Clanrats, only to get them done by the end.(and BTW, I might steal that skin recipie after seeing how the Rat Ogors and Clawlord on Gnaw-Beast turned out) Or how it seemed like the Stormcast may have been unfinished, but pulling it out in a state you're (mostly)happy with and being the first challenge you *truly* completed. Excellent job, both of you!

Then I'll either move right to building the Skaven, but maybe not painting it right away, I've got an event in August, and I want to finish enough models painted, either Stormcast or maybe a different army(?) until I have a "good" 2K list. It also doesn't help that I bought a second Skaven half of the box from a friend who didn't want the Skaven, so. . . I have twice the rats to paint. . . 😅👍

Definitely glad to see both forces wound up being finished, and to a level both were happy with in such a short timeframe! As for what I'll be doing with Skaventide? Slowly assemble the Skaven, and we'll see what I do with the Stormcast. I have a few ideas, but I suspect they'll wind up doing the same thing the Space Marines did for me with Leviathan - have a few ideas sort themselves out once I have them built and primed...

I absolutely LOVE how both sides turned out! That OSL on the Skaven really makes every model pop AND ties them all together perfectly. As for the SCE I was VERY worried in the first video with how bright they were, but holy crap did that wash and then dabbing with the towel really add so much depth to them. Also those bases are the definition of less is more. I'd love to see an update video on these with finished bases for Skaven and any sort of details on both sides. Cheers, guys! Also congrats on the marriage!

That's the problem with the 24 hour challenges - easy to burn out. I'd actually love to see a weekly version - or even longer focusing on enjoying the process and just having a blast. Otherwise seriously great work for the time limit 🤩👍

Both Armies look awesome, great job both of you! I think my plan is to paint options...get some Spearhead models painted up...and keep working through Flesh Eater Courts and Skaven models...Maybe a sprinkle of models from 40k too.

For the skaven .what wash did you used ? And what did you used for the dry brush on skin and fur ?❤❤ those are insane color you are both verry verry talented.also May i ask you what rust ans streaks paints you used ? Thank you verry much !

If I remember rightly for the Skaven skin it was AK Base Flesh, AK Light Flesh drybrush. Then the fur is AK Dark Brown. Rust I think was a super thinned down GW Mournfang Brown, probably a spot of Orange in that mix aswell!

I would like to see more videos discussing the conclusion you end up at in the final minute. Art is meant to be enjoyable, and if you learn to love doing it and love the process you shouldn't be setting unrealistic goals and rushing to complete them then feeling garbage for not meeting these goals. I am really disliking how many '24 hour challenges!' and the like I am seeing all over youtube or absolute bonkers speed painting challenges - It is unhealthy and sets you up to fail and feel bad about your work. Burnout sucks and we shouldn't be encouraging great ways to get it. This box looks good but even a 'Paint it in a week!' challenge would be so much more enjoyable, healthy, and produce better results. You both do great work but I would love to see more done at your best and proudest and not banged out because that's what everyone else is doing these days. A Spearhead box for example done to a good level with way less pressure over a week or two is still an awesome accomplishment and I wish more people were filming and discussing that.

There is some totally valid points here, really like the idea of doing it over a longer period of time. It’s why we have started doing the HeroHammer series, it still have the gamey challenge aspect to it, but it’s actually achievable (in theory…)

I challenge you to do a new series. Painting 1 single model in 24h or 12h. Hear me out. A lot of people do these timed challenges for entire armies and it feeds the idea that you have to rush your projects and get everything ready for the table and that leads to people having burnouts, spending lots of money on things you're not sure and generally a bad feeling (imo). Now, I've been painting for 2 years and 1 month and can tell you that the projects I love the most are the single figures where I spent 20+ hours on and tried nmm, osl and freehands. I would love for people to enjoy painting single figures or smaller lots and being very proud to have tried new techniques. I found that doing these slower paintjobs helps me paint squads of 10 in like 8hours with basing and priming and drying time included (and most of that time im watching a series)

I'm sure it's in another comment but it's putting a dot of white in the centre of the eye, layering Inktensity Crimson Ink on the area (on and around the white dot) before adding another white dot again!

I love those wings on those flyboys and I love the way the Rat Ogors turned out! Both halves of the box look great! You both did so good! I'm so stoked to paint my Rats(over the course of weeks probably) and I'll definitely be taking inspiration from adding in that purple to the blue when I paint my Stormcast. And also a airbrush, if this video showed me anything its that I need an airbrush, so thanks!
